The Truth can win this
The Truth can win this but only if it is forcefully spoken. The truth carried Obama for quite some time.. helped him build the big lead but then the other-side's lies ate into that and the inevitable holier-than-thou convention turned things upside down. There is no doubt in my mind that the financial system problems have helped Obama this week but what about subsequent weeks? This, now having been "solved", will die down and McCain can re-surge if his lies are spoken louder than the truth. The other-side will even use the fact that the economic meltdown helped Obama against him !

But before the economic meltdown happened, Obama was recovering and I think that was because he was "fighting back". I submit to you that there are many people in this country who only vote for someone if they are strong, regardless of who is telling the truth. And Obama finally putting out ads that struck back at John McCain probably turned these people around. These people know what the truth is but they need to know that their candidate can fight.

They worry that Democrats are too soft and I do too. I would point out Pelosi and Reid as Democrats who know the score but who are unwilling to fight for what is right because they are afraid that it will come back on them... well guys, if you want to have leadership in this country, you have to be willing to fight for the truth to be heard. Truthfully, Pelosi and Reid are a big disappointment because they have let the Republicans bully them around. They give up way to easily.

The smartest thing that Obama has said was, "The Republicans know how to win an election but they don't know how to run a country". More truth, forcefully spoken, good job! But this is also true: Many voters feel that Democrats will run the country better but won't vote for them because if they cannot fight hard enough to win an election, then they do not deserve to get the vote. I know that this is nonsensical but many Americans are just that way.

The Democrats keep saying how important this election is but they said that last time and did not fight hard enough to win it. So, again,, Obama has to not only speak the truth, but to speak it forcefully.
