Coming Soon To a Check Stub Near YOU: Higher Taxes
Whether you like it or not, we have had too easy of a ride these years in the way of taxes. The Republicans are STILL running on low or no taxes. The problem with that is it puts us all into deficit spending and balloons it. Sooner or later we have to pay the fiddler in higher taxes. Guess what? Now is that time. Because we cannot afford to let the U.S. Government default too. And we now will have to pay another three quarters of a trillion to bail out these companies. How do you think we can get out of not getting our taxes raised? It ain't gonna happen no matter whose in office. Get ready. The credit card bill for the U.S. government is in the mail. I am a liberal Democrat and voting for Obama. I believe no one should get a cut in taxes. We're too far in debt.

5. I'm Stupid for telling the truth?
You're a Democrat aren't you? I don't have a problem paying higher taxes. I don't know why I should be slammed for telling the truth. Our Government is about to go belly up. Our generation has never had to experience a depression. We have had it too good. I know you all hate the sound of this but it's the truth. We are going to have to pay more taxes in the future. That's just the simple truth. Thanks to the Republcians who were too greedy and wanted deregulation.

13. nonsense
Very few people here will, or should "pay more taxes." That is a right wing fear mongering line.

Our government is not going "belly up" it is being systematically destroyed. It is not broke, it is being looted.

We have had it too good? Who is this "we" - perhaps you are a wealthy individual?

6. What? How else are we going to pay for it?
Maybe like Glen Beck says, it all because of "entitlements." We either cut Social Security and MediCare or raise taxes.

Seems many don't realize how dire this is.

7. dear razorblade
sorry, but my caps button doesn't work since the hurricane.

please go to the graph that is posted elsewhere on this site and obama's about the comparison of how much less 95 percent of americans will pay in taxes under obama's plan as opposed to mcbombbomb's.

yes, we have a republican mess to clean up--one brought on by the borrow and spend policies of all republican administrations--again. pay-as-you-go must be reinstituted. and that includes all americans--who helped us get into this crisis by the practice of instant gratification by the use of credit cards instead of saving and spending real money.

the republican coup is complete. the stocks are for sale to the moneyed people. their values will be increasing because the 'government' is going to bail out the corporate lenders and other market related companies.

they fucked all of the hard-working taxpayers. they always do.

i'm glad to read that you are voting for obama. take heart that we will not be running up more debt through endless war based on lies, hate, and corporate corruption.

9. it remains to be seen
how quickly we can undo some of the bad laws that were put in place under shrubbie to get rid of a lot of corporate welfare. how soon we stop spending money in iraq. whether or not nafta and cafta stay in place. whether we can timely bring jobs back to the u.s. so many factors that have to be repaired. we really need a dem senate.
