Poll Shows Women Voters Favor Obama Over McCain
By Cindy Saine
Washington
06 August 2008

A recent national opinion poll of women voters shows Democratic candidate Barack Obama with a commanding lead over Republican candidate John McCain for the November presidential election. The Lifetime Television network poll also examines the lasting impact of Senator Hillary Clinton's White House bid, as Cindy Saine reports from Washington.

Lifetime Television Network is sponsoring a nonpartisan campaign to engage women in the U.S. political process - encouraging women to go out and vote, and to run for public office. Democratic pollster Celinda Lake announced the results of a national poll of 700 women conducted in late July on their preferences for president.

"Female voters are backing Obama at rates that are comparable to, I think Al Gore, at this any time in the election, or back in June or July when we made the comparison," Kohut said.

Kohut said polls show Obama running better among women than the 2004 Democratic nominee, Senator John Kerry, was at this point in the race.

Can we please, stop letting the republicans and msm push our buttons to try and get our canidate off message. All of this is not about racism Obama has to deal with.. hello, of course there are racists out there..

But this is about the republicans sending out message after message (remember Armey last week how he was so so sad that Obama would lose due to racism ) to the msm till they start making a story out of no story. THIS IS ANOTHER LIPSTICK ON THE PIG STORY

When we are on message we win.. end of story.. Push back at the media

There are always those nimrods who want their 15 minutes of fame .. but that does not mean the electorate is all that way..

2. I hear Bill Maher pushed this inaccurate point on his show last night.
There are times I love the guy, but he is starting to get tiresome again.

4. I did not see him.. but I know that Obama is in better shape with women voters
than Kerry was, the same as Gore and I think Clinton if I remember right. I just don't get this juice on the media. Do they ever stop and think when their blackberries go off from the McCain people and "lets do some research before we start on this"??..

Apparently not

9. To the extent the "women's vote" breaks in "inexplicable" ways
I think you just need to check which candidate exudes more sex appeal.

Sorry to say this but it's a fact.

So I don't think that women are going to break for an old and creepy looking John McCain with a plastic, generation younger wife and a mean-girl running mate when they can go for a younger, vibrant, more handsome Obama.

That's just my theory.
