Tell you one thing about the Jews in FL:
"Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice....I won't get fooled again"

A "great man" said that somewhere down in Texas or Tennessee or somewhere once, and although my guess is that a lot of my brethren who were publicly castigated for "accidentally" casting ballots for Pat "The Onanist Nazi" Buchanan in 2000 are on the warpath now, since attempts have been made by the RW (Read: Karl Rove- McCain Campaign) to push-poll them into 'thinking' that Obama's either a Muslim or funding the PLO. These RW guys have no freaking idea how fast some story or rumor runs around a synagogue or a housing development/apartment building and this cat's out of the bag. I have some relatives in Hallendale who weren't sure who they were voting for: now they are. My older cousin used the phrase "Goebbels would be proud of these Storm-Trooper tactics. who do these guys think they are, The SS?"

Game, set, match Obama on this one. My RW dentist buddy in Tampa's off the McCain bandwagon, and grudgingly on Obama's.

4. I wish Michelle Obama's cousin the rabbi
would get out there on the campaign trail. Yes, it's true, check the Forward. Unfortunately, he says he is an "Independent" but still... he could help with outreach.

http://www.forward.com/articles/14121/

While Barack Obama has struggled to capture the Jewish vote, it turns out that one of his wife’s cousins is the country’s most prominent black rabbi — a fact that has gone largely unnoticed.

Michelle Obama, wife of the Democratic presidential nominee, and Rabbi Capers Funnye, spiritual leader of a mostly black synagogue on Chicago’s South Side, are first cousins once removed. Funnye’s mother, Verdelle Robinson Funnye (born Verdelle Robinson) and Michelle Obama’s paternal grandfather, Frasier Robinson Jr., were brother and sister....

Funnye, who described himself as an independent, said he has not been involved with the Obama campaign but that he has donated money and was cheering it on...

8. I had seen that so it lets me think that the meme could be:
"Funnye, you don't look Jewish!"

Used to be a punchline to the joke: what did the cracker say to the matzoh?

Some of my Jewish acquaintances in Florida are all behind BushCo's GWOT, which to them is taking down "radical" Islam (and "radical" Islam includes any discussion of support for Palestinians, in any way).

And some of my Jewish acquaintances in Florida are all behind Obama and hate Bushco's GWOT.

Jews aren't a singular block.

Same can be applied for Florida's Cuban-Americans on Cuba. Some support sanctions and embargoes, some don't.

7. Of course they're not...so to your "huh"
I would only say that those on the fence have been pushed towards Obama by this tactic...they don't like being taken for fools.

6. i got this e-mail from NJDC the other day.
A New Low for Republicans
Wednesday, September 17, 2008 4:25 PM
From: "Ira N. Forman, NJDC Executive Director" <info@njdc.org>

To:

Dear :

The Republican Jewish Coalition (RJC) has sunk to a new low. The RJC is using negative message polling and spreading outright lies to deceive the American Jewish community.

Debbie Levy of Montclair, NJ, contacted NJDC after receiving one of these deceptive poll calls. She was asked:

"What if you were told that the president of Iran endorsed Obama?"

"What if you were to find out that Obama supported a united Jerusalem and then switched his opinion and believed in a divided Jerusalem?"

According to ABC News, Ben Cohen, a lawyer in Ohio who also received a call, was asked:

"Would you still vote for Barack Obama if you knew he had given money to the PLO?"

These polling questions were clearly designed to deceive Jewish voters and are pure lies. The only reason to test such lies is to see if they work with Jewish voters.

This is just the beginning. We expect the RJC to use these deceptive messages in upcoming ads, and we must fight back to get expose the truth.

NJDC must meet the challenge and not allow a fear and smear campaign of disinformation to prevail. We must launch an aggressive ad and direct mail campaign to counteract the RJC’s lies.

With less than 50 days until Election Day, we must urgently raise $100,000 in the next 5 days to expand our outreach to Jewish voters to get the true facts out.

Donate now to NJDC.

We look forward to waging a successful battle. The future of our country is at stake. Thank you for your involvement in NJDC. It has never been more important than it is now.

Sincerely,

Ira N. Forman

10. That's so typical of the GOP
they do that in our local elections a LOT. We just got one about our candidate for state senate in PA. Really slimy.

11. Wish I had the link to the Jewish grandchildren who will be
visiting their grandparents and discuss Obama with them. Of course, it just great PR but I love it. I believe in the Delray, Boynton area. Great article, I will look for it.
