For this to happen in NE Florida is a turning point for us.

31. that cracks me up!
...they could have named her "George Herbert"

I used to be a photographer. The first name of "Reagan" is very popular for some repubs and they use it for boys and girls.

5. It may just happen...
If we can get a good enough turnout in Jax to swing it blue or even make it close, and a similar showing in St. Pete/Tampa and the I-4 corridor to boost the Dade/Broward/Palm Beach vote...

Man, I'm getting excited. Still a lot of work to be done, though.

10. Anyone notice the media NEVER comments on the size of Obama's crowds anymore?
They only comment on Palin's crowds (and lie, at that).

It started turning pinkish purple in 2004. And, there are more registered dems there that there are republicans. This should be easy this year.

Registered Voters as of 09/20/2008 Republican: 188,834 Democrat: 225,144 Other: 89,451 Total: 503,429

Here's a map, but it's even bluer than I thought.

From C-Span Election Page

4th Congressional District which encompasses most of Duval County and a sliver of Tallahassee

7th Congressional District which encompass southern Duval County and St Johns County.

16. I hope those 8000 are escorted to an area where speakers/big screen TVs are set up.
That's what we do in PA and OH (and other states, no doubt) when there's overflow.

Sorry if I seem overwhelmed by this. But grew up and spent half my life in Boston, a democratic city if ever there was one. I campaigned for Teddy Kennedy when he first ran for the Senate. I love living where I am now, but feel like a fish out of water because of the political environment. So this is a very special moment for me.
