ABC: Palin Forcibly Suppressed Alaska Anti-Rape Initiative
ABC: Palin Forcibly Suppressed Alaska Anti-Rape Initiative

ABC's Justin Rood has just released a breakthrough story on a government document that contradicts Alaska Governor Sarah Palin's stated reason for firing Alaska public safety official Walt Monegan, whose allegations lie at the heart of the growing "Troopergate" scandal.

Here's the key graf:

Palin on Monday argued in a legal filing that she fired Monegan because he had a "rogue mentality" and was bucking her administration's directives.

"The last straw," her lawyer argued, came when he planned a trip to Washington, D.C., to seek federal funds for an aggressive anti-sexual-violence program. The project, expected to cost from $10 million to $20 million a year for five years, would have been the first of its kind in Alaska, which leads the nation in reported forcible rape.

As Rood's ABC story details, the McCain campaign is citing Monegan's alleged insubordination against Palin's gubernatorial authority, by planning a trip to Washington, DC to seek federal finds for the anti-rape program, as evidence that Palin legitimately fired Monegan, because he had a "rogue mentality."

However, as Rood's story documents, it was Palin's gubernatorial administration itself that originally authorized Monegan's planned Washington trip and so the question arises - did Alaska Governor Sarah Palin sacrifice the establishment of an Alaska anti-rape program because of a personal vendetta?

1. Sarah Palin has all the empathy of Al Capone. Nasty, self-absorbed with zero knowledge of history.
No one has challenged her on her actual knowledge of any part of American history, let alone the Constitution.

Five colleges in six years? Is there not a single journalist in the US who might possibly look into that?

9. Her first one was Hawaii
Perhaps it was the thunderstorms that scared her away after a few weeks, but methinks it was really the fact that the student body didn't closely resemble Moosejaw Alaska and the barracuda-maverick-hick thing didn't go over so good. Apparently she finally graduated from U of Idaho. In journalism, if I am not mistaken.

Damn. Why do I have to say anything good about Bush...at least he got his C's in Harvard Buisness School....not like that excuses a damn thing, but FUCK people, these guys aren't even trying very hard anymore. The swindle is so transparent.

Just our luck to get the fascists who can't even make the damn trains run on time.

10. College-hopping
shows a lack of emotional stability IMHO, but there is so much that she's done recently that needs attention.

12. It also appears that she periodically would go to a community college
I would imagine in order to get a pitiful GPA back up to a relatively respectable level.
She did this more than once.
For a communications degree. The favorite major of college athletes.

8. She is the enemy of humanism, and not just in the scholarly sense of that word.
She flat-out doesn't give a d@mn about anything or anyone that doesn't directly feed her voracious ambition. She has no soul.

15. It's true.
ABC has seen the travel document Palin's office approved for Monegan to go to DC to meet with Sen. Murkowski to get money for the program.

in the case of rape. I'd bet a lot of money on it.

16. She fired him to put the Chrisitan Right stooge Kopp in his place.
Plain and simple. If you look back on all her firings and hirings from City Council and beyond, I guarantee ALL of the people she tapped were fellow religious extremists. She's been grooming herself for this moment... to get the wacked out relgious right back in power.
