Impeach Bush, vote for McCain????
OK, this I don't get. A house near me has had an "Impeach Them Both" lawn sign for 2 years. It's still there but now has a McCain sign next to it. :wtf:

3. Probably
Probably an old-school conservative who sees Bush/Cheney's gross overexpansion of government and becomes ill.

Where they go wrong is being naive enough to believe that McCain is a throwback to Goldwater conservatism, and is somehow the "change" candidate who will roll back the Bush/Cheney excesses.

5. I once saw an interesting documentary on Goldwater...
apparently he loathed Reagan and some family member (daughter, granddaughter?, niece?) posited that based on his personal beliefs (strongly pro-establishment clause, pro-choice, in favor of a small government which stayed out of people's affairs, anti-corporate) that if he'd lived longer he'd have made the jump across the aisle.

I doubt it, but it is interesting to know that Goldwater would have been no fan of modern conservatism. That the guy who looked upon a young John McCain as a protege would be disgusted to see 2008 John McCain. In 2000, with the defeat of John McCain, Goldwater conservatism passed away unachieved and unmourned.

I hope you're spinning in your grave, you bastard. Hook a turbine to you and we could power half the US southwest.
