I received my ABSENTEE BALLOT in the mail today!!!!! |
|
I will be voting for Obama/Biden on Monday!!!!
I live in Ga. and I can't stand for a LONG time in a line. I was so afraid that Ga. hasn't prepared for the large # of new voters who registered this year, and I just wasn't willing to take the chance that I wouldn't be able to cast my vote!
Now, of course, all I have to do is hope the damn Diebold crap doesn't screw it up!

1. What kind of ID do you need to provide before sending it in? |

There's an oath you have to sign on the back of the return envelope |

which takes the place of your signature at the polls when you have to sign in person. Somehow I doubt they check them unless your vote is contested. Your actual ballot is to be filled out and placed in an envelope that is then placed inside of the return envelope to keep your ballot a secret ballot. I know here in Ga. that all the absentee ballots are entered into a Diebold machine as they come in, and are all entered before the results are finalized. To me, that means I wouldn't gain anything by voting in person v/s absentee, and they don't offer the option to demand a paper ballot.
I should add that they also have a WARNING printed on the return envelope that asks "DID YOU REMEMBER TO COMPLETE & SIGN YOUR OATH?"
It at least LOOKS like they tried to keep it clean.
