Obama in JAX
Just got back from the rally and the turnout was incredible. I just got in the park before they closed the gates. Massive crowds. I would say between the park and those that could not get in it was around 30k people, maybe even more. Old, young, black, white and everything in between. It was a happening, I was amazed by the turnout. McAsshat only drew 4-5k when he was here. I was proud of JAX, rain was threatening and still all those folks came out to see the next Prez of these United States. I'd post some photos but I don't know how here.

5. The former beauty queen is vaguely sad...
But I'm intrigued by the guy's shirt in the foreground... is that Obama's face?

14. Oh no!!!!!!!
That's meeeeeeeee!!!!!!! I loved being a "Former Beauty Queen for Obama!" Of course, my beauty queen status was over 40 years ago as you can well see, but what the heck? Wish I'd known I was being photographed. This will probably end up with some really bad comments. I don't care. It was a great day.

8. Jax is very conservative/red.
That's why a crowd like this is a big deal!

12. Re: The JAX crowd
You really had to be there to understand what a HUGE turnout this was. I got there at 12:30 and it took two hours to get inside the park. Literally there were thousands and thousands there. It was like a mini Woodstock. Unbelievable. The local newspaper which is a right wing rag unworthy of wrapping fish estimated the crowd at 20k but believe me, there was almost twice that there. One red head shot my wife the bird as we were walking to the park. Another rolled down their window to shout we were voting for the wrong candidates. We just smiled and waved. A NY Times reporter covering the event said it was one of Obama's biggest crowds. It was a highly emotional, electrifying event.

17. Oh trust me, I was there!
And I was TAKEN by how large the crowds were. I was so afraid Obama would come to red red Jax and get a crappy turnout. Definitely didn't happen!
