1. I suspect this backs up what Obama's internals are showing

He has a rally scheduled there next week. And there was another poll that showed it 48-47, McCain. I more or less wrote the other poll off as an outlier but clearly Obama wouldn't be traveling there if their internal polling was showing him way behind.

21% African American in this survey where in 2004 the actual turn out was 26%

7. Barr consistently does well in NC because of the talk radio people out here
Barr's been a fixture on right-wing radio station WBT in Charlotte for years now and has a sizable backing that probably would have gone to McCain otherwise.
