I wasn't going to mention this... I met a proclaimed puma. |
|
At Governor Sebelius' speech for Obama, on women issues this Friday, one lonely, pathetic puma, stood in the crowd with a nonsensical sign: " 'sweetie' is code for 'sexist' puma4mccain puma4palin"
Whatever. I found her comical, if a little brazen. I ignored her, and listened to a great speech on what Obama will do for women's rights and the risk that is mccain/palin.
When it was over, I walked past the pathetic soul and she was being challenged by several Obama supporters. I went to her and said, "There is no such thing as a 'puma'."
She said "I am one."
I said "You--are a republican. Anyone who is supporting mccain over Obama is a republican. puma's do not exist."
She never proclaimed herself a Democrat, and never denied she was a repubbie.
Her tell was she refused to debate issues, like a repuke. She would only mention getting called names, emotional bullshit that had nothing to do with Obama.
When she told me all the things Democrats had called her, I told her "you'd be called much worse if she went to McCain rallies holding Obama signs, and I am going to call you only one thing---republican"

1. I call my nieces "sweetie" all the time. |
|
Mostly because I simply adore them.

3. That is code for 'sexist'. |
|
I am not sure if you are supposedly calling them sexist or if you, in fact, are a sexist.

2. You should have asked her if she'd rather be called "sweetie"... |
|
...or "c*nt". Because we know McCain has called a woman THAT before.

4. A 'Puma' is a REPUBLICAN |
|
Sweetie is an endearment. Just like honey, baby, etc. It's common in the black and white Southern vernacular.

6. Hell, I got called vile things for not supporting Obama in the primaries. But I got over it. |
|
It's called being an adult, and caring about something much larger than yourself... I'm sure there are PUMAS who don't think they're republicans, but unlike me.. I won't let that nastiness of the primary ruin my life and my country.
You're right, the people who persist, and who support McCain, are now republicans.

10. Was she wearing a "Republicans for the Hottie" button? |
|
That's what they wore at the convention in honor of Mooseburger. Nothing sexist about that.

14. LOL! My husband is such a sucker for that. If a waitress or a female sales clerk |
|
calls him that (sincerely), they get a big tip/sale. I guess he enjoys being subjected to sexism, puma-style.
