1. I agree
I think that religious organizations need to put their money where their mouth is. They need to PAY for their political positions!
Tax them!

4. Disagree.
Many (or most) churches are heavily into charity donation, more than they would pay in taxes...NPOs can make better use of those funds than Uncle Sam can.

Also, as soon as you start taxing them...you lose the right to preclude them from the political process. We don't need to tax churches...we need to incarcerate pastors to politicize the pulpit and we need to revoke the tax-exempt status of their churches. Do you know what happens to those churches usually? They cease to exist.

5. I'd start with tax-exempt "think tanks" in DC that are really no more tha lobbyists. Cato, Heritage
Foundation, etc.

Far, far, ess controversila and worth billions.
