Disgusting. Is this all they have left?
http://thinkprogress.org/2008/09/21/bushie-obama-uppity/

Anonymous ‘Bush insider’ calls Obama ‘uppity.’»

In his Playbook this morning, Politico’s Mike Allen relays “a Bush insider’s prescription” for how Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) can change the dynamics of presidential race. The McCain campaign needs to drive “out the range of contrast that makes McCain different from Obama,” said the insider, whom Allen refers to as “one of the smartest Bushies.” Giving examples of those contrasts, the Bushie then used the racially-load term “uppity” to describe Obama:

The tactics that got them to mid-September in a tie are not going to get them to 50 percent plus one in November. They need … an eye toward driving out the range of contrast that makes McCain different from Obama (action-oriented rhetoric v. grand prose; accessible v. uppity; humble servant of country v. arrogant).”

This isn’t the first time a Republican insider has used the racial epithet to refer to Obama. Last month, Rep. Lynn Westmoreland (R-GA) told reporters that Obama and wife, Michelle, were part of “an elitist-class individual that thinks that they’re uppity.”

3. This is pure racism and race baiting, and they damn well know it
They are desperate and unhinged as the election slips away from their sad little candidate. It's pathetic.

5. Interestly enough, Westmoreland defended his use
of the word, saying that he had "never heard of it being used in a racial fashion".. He never heard it paired with the 'n' word? Really? In Georgia?

6. well, yeah.
they are hamstrung by the following:

Palin was a horrible choice. People are catching on quickly
McCain is losing his marbles. He has serious mental issues that are coming out more and more often.
Bush III is a loser platform.
The GOP economy just tanked. Badly. Socialistic responses (Nationalization) are all that was left. (Imagine us attacking Hugo Chavez for his nationalization policies today!)
Health care is a disaster.
4,000,000 households are being tossed out of their homes.

given all of the above, what else is left?

As a lawyer, when the facts are agin me, I argue the law. When the law's agin me, I argue facts. When both facts and law are agin me, I argue.

7. They Are Trying To Provoke A Distraction From The Economy
I doubt that the Obama camp will take the bait. However, some random Democrat will, and the McCain camp will then pounce and say that Obama through the race card. Then all the MSM will stop covering the economic melt down. Classic Rove.

9. Yes. It is.
Unbridled bigotry still works in the GOP's favor. For some, the overriding concern is color of skin. It is beyond my comprehension that this is so, but it is so.

However we should note that Obama doesn't need a tanning bed to maintain a beautiful tan.

10. Those first two instances of the use of "uppity" were trial balloons. They
had two "safe" Repukes use it on the record. There was no real outcry or coverage. The Repukes have figured out this is a "safe" word for them to use and still race-bait.

18. You can almost feel how hard Pat Buchanan is restraining himself from using THAT word;
one of these days he won't hold back on it--and he'll get a pass on it somehow.

Y'know, I had the same thoughts at the time. The bastards got away with ifso now it'll be "okay."

The pitbull with lipstick thing ain't working anymore.

Just what we need: A political campaign based on racism!!

Can they please stop referring to McDesperate as an honorable man now.

12. BO ought to pull a page right out of KKKarl Rove's playbook
Attack mcSame on his biggest strength: national security/foreign policy. He'll risk endangering the entire human race, and if he and the 2-legged cockroaches he hangs out with instigate a nuclear holocaust, which may well occur on his watch, the only survivors will be the 6-legged roaches.

Are the repukes suicidal depressos, homicidal maniacs, or both? :scared: :nuke:

26. Look at how much the "Bradley Effect" has started to come up.
If this works, then every racist fuckwit who couldn't bring themselves to vote for a black man deserves what they'll get under President McCain.

McCain is humble? LMFAO! Obama needs to start running an ad with the video of McCain scolding an audience, telling them that they won't pick lettuce for $50 per hour.

20. Probably
I hate those fuckers. I really do. There are certain racist terms and phrases like "uppity" that have more or less fallen by the wayside in recent years, unless one is a proud racist. Not everyone understands what's up. The waffle thing comes to mind, with the old Aunt Jemima racist ads as the connection. Michele Obama as the "angry black woman" is another.

I swear these assholes have drug every racist term or implication they can away with under every rock it was hiding under and just toss it out there, like meat to a crocodile. It's not enough they start wars and trash the economy, they have to try to degrade and lessen the heartbreaking hard work of so many who promoted and continue to promote racial equality.

Did I emphasize enough that I hate those fuckers?

but it's really all they have left. and they will use it with vigor. Don't think Obama and his team don't know this though.
