Another weird story on sign theft/ vandalism. WHY????
I don't have an Obama sign up yet. My local office hasn't gotten any in. I have a Repuke neighbor who is just an all around jerky guy. He's in his 40s, married or cohabiting with a quiet and seemingly nice woman, and he appears to go to church. Hubby was sitting on our front porch swing last night at about 2 AM (sitting quietly in the dark) and saw him come out of his house and to his Repuke signs (McCain and Inhofe). He messed with them for a bit. Hubby couldn't tell what he did, but he could tell it was definitely the neighbor (Partly because he came from INSIDE the house!)and that one of the signs was torn in half. He heard a hissing sound as well. Anyway, with the light of day, we can now see that he vandalized his own signs! He ripped the McCain one in half, laying it on the ground, spray painted an obscenity on the Inhofe one, and went inside!

WTF!!!???

We have lived in this house for a year. I grew up in it, but my parents were DINOs and never put out signs, and this neighbor didn't live here then. AFAIK, he doesn't know he lives across the street from a couple of die hard liberals.

Anyway, it seems that the assholic but otherwise unassuming guy across the street has a screw loose. The nuts are really coming out lately!

1. Will he call the police, and/or local news media to blame this on Obama supporters?
You know, spread the hate and fear -- Obama supporters come in to your yard in the middle of the night! :scared:

3. He doesn't strike me as smart enough
To do something of that nature. He seems more like the "deface or steal the Obama sign" type. But It's certainly possible. Fortunately, there's not much news media to speak of here in our small and fairly isolated town of less than 30k.

We slept in this morning. If he called the police, it was before we got up.

2. Desperate for attention, he will call the police or media or post pics online.
If I were you.. I'd ask him why he vandalized his own sign. That way he'd know that you saw him. Don't let him claim victimhood on this. I guarantee he will have already taken pics of the damage, and has posted it.. or will call the police. They are TRYING TO start trouble and make us look bad.

I'm always amazed at whatever they must be teaching at those republican churches.. because they have to be the scummiest, most dishonest people, I've ever seen.

I wouldn't let this go if I were you.. tell all your friends in town, etc. Because you know that someone will be blamed for this... and he may even try to blame you.

7. Heh- I like that idea.
But I would certainly rather he had just REMOVED his signs.

Oh! I just had a thought!

The first 6 feet of everyone's yard here is city property- And his signs are on it. Nothing is stopping me, as far as I know, from removing the trash he has left on the city property.

I have 2 cameras trained to the front of my house at all times...and they are infrared too, so I can see/record all activities, even at night. :-)

(I cropped out my neighborhood, for obvious reasons...)
I so love my cameras!! :-)

12. I think I spent about $700 for the whole set up...
Edited on Sun Sep-21-08 12:31 PM by 1corona4u
it's wireless, and goes right to my laptop. I've had them for 2 years now, and I would be lost without them. I have no windows on that side of the house, and the fact that my car got broke into about 3 years ago, is the reason I got them. I can also watch them from any computer, anywhere, anytime. :-) They are motion activated to record, so anything not masked out, gets recorded.

Oh, and the best part, everyone, and I do mean, everyone knows they are there, so they don't mess with my stuff, at all. :-)

16. I was thinking the other day that when I move out of here
maybe I'll repaint and replace the carpet myself, and that I'd ask Cornoa how to go about learning how to do it right.
