Unelected, Unappointed McCain Officials Running Alaska


The Troopergate scandal is taking on some odd twists. It seems that the McCain campaign, as a result of the scandal, is actually running the state of Alaska now, unelected and unappointed. Further, these McCain staffers running Alaska are making the kind of whiney excuses and incompetent decisions worthy of McBush.

What do Alaskans feel about this? Every time lately that Alaska has hit the national news, the responses from Sarah Palin’s office have come from McCain/Palin campaign officials. It’s very clear they are running the Governor’s official response to the Troopergate controvery, for instance, and the reporting from the Anchorage Daily News seems alarmed at these unelected and unappointed people having such major input into their state’s decisions. From the Anchorage Daily News:

What we’re seeing here is not merely the stonewalling of the Alaskan public in a corruption case concerning their Governor, a Governor who promised open government. Stonewalling has been a Republican practice for what, almost 40 years? What we’re also seeing is the stunning incompetence and whiney excuse making that the Bush Administration has risen to a form of dark art. Yes, McCain is McBush, and the treatment of the citizens of the state of Alaska is but the latest example of that.
