Governor Dave Freudenthal for McCain's VP!
Edited on Sun Sep-21-08 02:07 PM by jenmito
After all, he has more experience than Sarah Palin! :D

And he's really a man of the people-from Wyoming:

"Dave and his wife Nancy have four children: Don, Hillary, Bret, and Katie. He enjoys spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, and restoring sheepwagons, airstream trailers, and antique furniture."

http://governor.wy.gov/first-family/dave-bio.html

Of course, he'd be ridiculed by every RWer if chosen by McCain. What's the difference between this guy and Palin? Lipstick!

1. Plus, if you build a giant slingshot
And fling him straight up high enough, he'll be able to see Russia.

3. Not to mention the fact that he's a Democrat :-)
Sure, he's a Wyoming Democrat, which makes him look a bit funny to the rest of you, but he has endorsed Obama.

5. Oops! I didn't even bother to check for his party affiliation...
I just looked for the least populated state and it was Wyoming, with Alaska being 2nd on the list. :D

9. Just a minute there, pardner...
Wyoming - 522,830, 5.4/sq mi
Vermont - 621,254, 67.2/sq mi
Alaska - 683,478, 1.2/sq mi

Alaska's not the least populous state, although it is the emptiest.

Us'ns here in the Big Square State in the Middle don't have much to crow about, but at least there are still fewer of us than there are of any of the rest of you. Granted, each of them Alaskan fellers has more space that each of us Wyoming folks, but most of both states is so empty that 'density' isn't much of a concern.

11. We are a tad bit denser than you, yes
We're eastern rural, meaning all smack dab against each other, as opposed to western rural, where "next door neighbor" can mean over the horizon. We both deal in things bovine, though ours make cheese and milk and yours become steaks. And while you dig valuable things out of tall mountains, we (aside from our well known quarry) dig valuable things out of the pockets of visitors who want to visit our small mountains.

Otherwise I find some of the same spirit here as in the west (I lived in Colorado), the "You mind your business and I'll mind mine and we'll both leave each other be" attitude that you don't necessarily find elsewhere. That's one of the reasons I really love my adopted little, compact, state.

6. Still, I think my slingshot suggestion has merit
For all elected officials.

7. He's a good governor
He and Schweitzer are the kind of western governors we need in our party - practical, honest, and straightforward.
