Why in the world would anyone want to be President? |
|
I mean really. An unending war, the economy in the tank, unemployment etc. I give Obama a lot of credit for even wanting to try to fix this mess. It's impossible to even know where to begin to fix it. Heaven help us.

2. I'd want to be President after Obama's second term. |
|
But it takes a very special person to want to take over and fix Bush's disaster.

3. For McCain, it could be an Oedipal thing. Both his dad and his granddad were 4-star |

US Navy admirals. Young John tried to follow in their footsteps, but he barely got out of Annapolis (bottom 0.7 percent of his class) and crashed five airplanes. He has to keep his Navy records sealed because it must show why, unlike virtually every other ex-POW, he never got another promotion after the initial round of medals when the Vietnamese gave him back. In short, Johnnie was a fuck-up, a disgrace to his family.
Being (s)elected President would wipe out all of that sad history in the eyes of Mom, who's still alive and still apparently could comprehend such an achievement by little Johnnie.
