Who was this girl on MSNBC?
About 25 minutes ago (2:55 PST) she trashed that McCain idiot over the debates and she was awesome.

Who is this moran, again? According to him, Obama refused the town hall debates, while I remember Obama saying that 12 were too many and that 3 would be better, to which McCain said no.

1. Brad Blakeman was the rethug; I don't know who the Dem was, but
she was good and he was totally rude. He has to interrupt before the truth comes out.

They won't be laughing on November 5th.

2. As soon as Obama saw that McShame was loading his audiences
with ticketed right-wingtards, Obama backed away from the obvious partisan rigging that the McBush regime was so good at.

8. "John McCain secures presidential debate advantages"
Or ... did he?

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/uselection2008/johnmccain/3042964/John-McCain-secures-presidential-debate-advantages.html

I like to read the foreign press, because they usually take a truly independent approach to our issues.

How is it a victory for McCain to debate Obama in the format that he thinks fits him best?

We know Obama has a tendency of getting uneasy with hard, unexpected questions, which is the mark of a younger politician, but one thing we know from McCain is that he has a short fuse and could show a side of himself that people are not always aware of. And he's shown several times these last weeks that he could not answer certain questions, had a tendancy to be unprepared, and it shows even more since he ran out of POW wildcards.

Also, Obama is going to be preparing himself for a week and my guess is that he knows he needs to meet this challenge.

In my own personal dictionary, at the word "ambitious", you see a photo Obama.

You also see Napoleon, who knew how to make his enemies over confident, and let them take the offensive and then turn it around with something completely out of the ordinary.

I know most of you are not militarists and usually hate talking about war and strategy, but this is a war.

You need to know your opponent's strength and weaknesses and moreover you need to respect him. And this is where McCain is at a disadvantage.

15. Thanks. A great attack... lady :)
So you cannot call a lady (not girl, uh) an attack "dog", because, 1-a dog is a poor chosen word for a lady one does not find attractive and 2-the female of a dog is a certain "B" word.

So what can she be called?

11. A girl? How old was she?
There was a young girl who got some attention during the Kerry campaign (or convention), and I think I saw a piece about her recently. Was that the one?
And there have been some activist teens as well.

16. Girl is the "female" of a "boy".
Do you call a grown man a boy? "Who was that boy on CNN?"? No? I didn't think so...

Woman = equivalent term for "man"
Lady = equivalent for "gentleman"

20. Back in the 1970s, us teens had to GET MEAN to stop the term "girl" from being used with
ALL professional women. Yes, we were "feminazis" because people were so comfortable with their LOW EXPECTATIONS and existing terminology. We went through "hell on earth" to earn that Ms. title that far too many young women discount as .... "oh whatever." :(

21. I think there's a generational thing here
When I started college (1982) my female classmates were insistent that they were "women" and not "girls." But the female college students I teach tend to insist that they are "girls." I evade the issue when possible; I can't get around insisting that they are young women even though it doesn't seem to matter to them the way it did to my peers when I was their age.

I'm adjusting better to everyone potentially being a "dude," male or female :)

22. You're all overreacting, OKAY?!?
Don't patronize me and teach me that girl is the female form of this or that, please.

I would have seen a man I would have seen "Who is this guy?". I saw that woman, I said "Who is this girl?"

Turning the meaning of my sentence because of you pretending to be misunderstanding a WORD makes you look like tinfoil freepers.

Enough with this already.

Julie was awesome and I will make sure I listen to her again next time I see her scheduled to appear.

You're all diseased.

23. I'll go with chick to roughly equal guy or kat or dude
Please don't act like anyone expects regular use of gal, I'm thinking that Dobey Gillis, Route 66, nor Howdy Doody are on tonight's line up.

People that are actually attempting to be respectful end up with a kung fu kick in the teeth.

24. Although unintentional, the use of the word "girl" for a professional woman, is NOT repsectful.
Dammit, I didn't fight discrimination throughout the 70s and 80s within the military to slide back now. ;)
