Oh lord, have you seen The National Enquirer?
Just got back from the grocery store. I wanted to puke. Right there on the cover 'proof Obama is a Muslim'. And inside, the 'proof' is a copy of his enrollment card from elementary school listing his religion as 'Islam'.

Yes I realize it could be a forgery. But then, unlike the majority of Americans, I have critical thinking skills.

There is also a picture of him when he went to Kenya, dressed in 'Muslim' clothes.

I didn't read the whole article. Instead I spent my time in line taking every single one of those National Enquirers, turning them around and putting them behind other magazines on the rack.

I am sure that Palin's sooth sayer will have many of those as well. Too bad it has to come down to one wacko against another.

5. That's why when folks post shit about Palin in the Enquirer here...
I wonder if they have shit for brains.

Those tabloid magazines are just that.

And that registration card was in reference to the Catholic school he attended when he first got to Indonesia, and it hasn't been proven authentic. He was seven years old at the time, and attended that Catholic School for two years, before transfering to a public school.

13. Posting something bad about Palin ...
Is different than posting bad things about Obama ....

Bad press about Palin ? .... GOOD

Bad press about Obama ? ... BAD ...

We of course benefit if Palin is the target, and those are stories which we SHOULD promulgate as widely as possible ....

Stories about Obama, like this one, is going to be out there, true or not, and like it or not .... They need to be refuted as needed, which has always been the case ....

I kinda doubt many here have 'shit for brains' ... an insult which is unnecessary among friends here at DU ...

25. Bite, scratch, kick, gouge ...
break beer bottles and crack them over their heads ...

Fight fire with fire : They are NOT going to stop hitting YOU on the head .... I see no problem, in the middle of a tough campaign as this is, to besmirch the reputation of the opposition based on innuendos from a questionable tabloid source : It is what THEY do, and they have been quite successful at it ...

Some people buy that shit .... use their gullibility to YOUR advantage ....

Cynical, yes .... effective ? .... More than we want to admit ....

The school in Indonesia had the FATHER's religion ... The school itself was non denominational in nature ....

This has been a part of the smear campaign from day one .... It is well known ...

11. Nope...it was the Catholic School that he attended for two years.
Edited on Sun Sep-21-08 07:52 PM by FrenchieCat
He attended the public school afterwards which was non-denominational.

But the card that they are talking about was supposed to have been on file at the Catholic School...although later, the Priest who administered the school at the time gave doubt to this proof....and said that it had "appeared" out of nowhere and couldn't vouch for its authenticity.

21. When I saw my school records my stepfather had filled
out the form and I noticed my religion was listed as "Methodist", which was his religion.

I've never been to a Methodist church, I had always gone to a Catholic church and in fact until the year he filled out that form I had gone to a Catholic school.
If the press ever finds that they will have proof I am a Methodist. Man, I might as well not even run for president, they've got me.

29. Yawn
they need to come up with new material. Seriously. Even if his card had Islam on it says nothing because he was a child. Most children at that age do not express their own thoughts on religion they go by their parents view. Maybe his mom was a christian but not devoted and since his dad is Muslim they put Islam for his religion. I need proof of Obama when he has reached the age to make his own decisions choosing Islam as his religion.
With that said, I am a christian and I do not care if he was Muslim, not all Muslims are bad. You have extremist in every group. We Christians need to stop persecuting people of other religions.

is that he was angling for international growth for his website, and knew Obama was wildly popular overseas. I think it mostly comes down to money for Matt. But he's also ardently anti-choice, so I'm not surprised that when push comes to shove his old patterns emerge.

24. It looks like it ISN'T The National Enquirer. Just went to their website.
It's still all about Palin there.

Remember the little tantalizing press releases about what's coming up in their next issue? Those always come out before the issue hits the stand.

We've seen none of that in the last week.

OP, I suspect the issue you saw was not from the National Enquirer. If it's the Globe or another one, the MSM won't report on it. They're the alien tabloids.

The Enquirer is trying to become a valid news source.

Gawd, these people are stupid.

A six year-old stepfather filled in a form.

I know that when I was six years old, I carefully monitored every piece of paper that someone wrote stuff on, and had spent a lot of time reading various religious works.

Alien Sitcoms are Worse than Ours
Posted on 19 September 2008

TOKYO, JAPAN - Astronomers combing the stars for signs of extraterrestrial intelligence have reportedly picked up the first-ever transmission from outer space. And it turns out to be the worst sitcom in the universe!

Scientists confirm that the 23-minute broadcast intercepted by the Nobeyama Radio Observatory in Japan on September 15 appears to be an entertainment program created by an alien civilization — and it stinks.

“The show has every worn-out cliché you’ve seen on TV a million times,” declares linguist Barry Malford of San Diego, who has been working with colleagues in Japan to translate the material. “There are the corny put-downs; the wacky neighbor who’s always bursting through the door unannounced —there’s even a canned laugh track.

“It’s somewhat disappointing. We expected the first alien message to be profound words of wisdom from a super-advanced civilization....
