McCain plans to boost effort in N. Carolina
http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/politics/6013860.html

RALEIGH, N.C. — With Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama scheduled to stump today in Charlotte, John McCain's campaign announced plans to ratchet up its efforts in North Carolina.

The McCain campaign said Saturday that it had opened 14 offices in the state and hired 20 paid staffers — a number that said it would likely grow to 20 offices and 25 to 30 staffers.

"This is a state that Sen. Obama and his campaign have targeted and put extraordinary resources and finances in the state," said Mike DuHaime, the political director for the North Carolina McCain campaign.

In another push, President Bush is scheduled to attend a fundraiser in Greensboro on Sept. 30 to raise money for the McCain-Palin ticket.

1. Good. Less money for him to spend in Colorado
Kerry states plus IA and NM (which looks very likely) all he has to do is win CO.
At that point Florida, Ohio, and Virginia would be nice but not necessary for him to win.

7. Too many McSame Failin' lawnsigns in Elon, NC...
... I've seen three. Not a single Obama one around there.

However Greensboro is a different story. Went to the movies - Carousel - I swear I saw six cars with Obama stickers.

Mark.

9. You are in Elon,
what do you expect??

Over here in Wake County, the Obama signs are thriving as well...I have seen some repugnican signs for local races but not many for McFailin. Even the grande dame of the town has not put out her hateful signs yet. Maybe she has learned something? Naaaaaahhhh!

11. McCain: NC Republicans 'Out of Touch with Reality'
Anyone remember those headlines?
(warning links to LGF)
If anyone is interested in why McCain had to pick a far- right wing-nut like Palin, read the comments over there.
Conservatives don't like McCain.
