On 60 mins McCain shakes his head no when asked if Palin could be president
John McCain was on 60 Minutes tonight and, naturally, the Arizona senator
was asked about the foreign and economic policy "experience" of his running mate,
Governor Sarah Palin.

While McCain can't find anything to recommend her on either point other than
her experience cutting taxes (which might have paid for too many rape kits),
he says picked her because it's "what's best for the country."

But is it? When asked if he can see Palin serving as President,
McCain begins shaking his head "no, no, no" even as his lips
are saying "absolutely, absolutely, absolutely." Which McCain should we believe?

1. I believe the McCain who collects dead soldier's dog tags,
then shows them off on "60 minutes".

That's who I believe John McCain is, the real John McCain.

2. It was painful to watch in HD but his body language clearly said NO

Just say to yourself right now

ABSOLUTELY, ABSOLUTELY and shake your head no at the same time you
are saying that.

The dog tags bit was ghoulish

3. His excuse for the dog tags was....
McCain: Just landed at the airport a couple hours ago. Woman was there. She handed me this envelope. Says, "My son, Staff Sergeant Patrick Lee Leibert, KIA, 21, June 2006, Afghanistan. Quote, please remember and support our troops in Afghanistan. God bless you. Cheryl Patrick

Pelley: KIA, killed in action.

McCain: Inside of it, of course, is the dog tag with Patrick's picture on it. That's what being President of the United States is all about.

How convenient for McInSane......If anyone believes this story, I have a bridge, a road and a pipeline to nowhere for sale in Alaska.

4. Sad that he thinks being president is all about our citizens getting KIA.

:grr:

This interview is making me MAD. They just let him spew talking points that are lies. My poor dog is once again upset because I'm yelling at the TV, again. I don't know how she's going to make it through this election cycle!

Then they're grilling Obama on what he would do as president, and he called them out on what they were getting at by saying "if this is about experience we're on equal footing."

:grr: :grr:

13. One correction:
Obama said, "If this is about executive experience, we're on equal footing".

I thought McCain's segments were heavily edited.

Obama's looked uncut.

15. Yes, thank you for the clarification.
I kind of wish I had recorded it. I just had it on, only listening while I surfed the net.

16. That's what I love about TiVo.
I can recheck what I thought I heard.

I hate watching teevee at hotels, because I don't have TiVo, and have to pay too close attention.

7. As if the Secret Service would even let him accept an envelope from a stranger on a rope line.
My heart goes out to every person who has lost a loved one to this insanity. Having said that, if the dog tag scene happened, at all, Cheryl Patrick was most certainly hand-selected to play a part in nothing more than a patriotic skit produced by the McCain campaign.

14. That was my first thought when he first pulled the dog tag stunt at
a speech this week.

You mean you can just give them stuff like that?

8. In Afghanistan, not Iraq.
Does McCain even know there's a war there? I think that was the message. "Don't forget about Afghanistan!"

10. Didn't he use that Thurs. and Fri. in speeches he gave too?
I remember it at at least one of the speeches because I changed the channel when he pulled the envelope from his pocket, figuring it was another one of his gimmicks...

12. McCain sure loves feasting on the corpses of the dead.
He's a vile ghoul.

5. Maybe he was giving us a signal
Kinda like a POW does by blinking out "SOS" in Morse Code?

He's trying to tell us that he is being held hostage by the neo-cons and wants us all to vote for Obama.

9. I'm pretty sure McCain wanted Lieberman as his VP
and it was pollsters and advisors who said his best bet for winning the election was Palin.

Nevermind what could happen to the country. Staying in power is their #1 goal.

Even McShame knows she can't cut it as VP. What a hideous mess.
