Quoting the article's first paragraph, which mentions Palin striking fear in the hearts of Democrats, but then conveniently ignoring the following paragraph:

Despite generating all this fear and enthusiasm, the Palin Factor hasn't changed the race in California. Obama beats McCain 52 percent to 36 percent in a Field Poll released last week,

of intelligent design who doesn't believe in the idea of man-made global warming. Just on those issues alone, Palin's positions are DOA in California.

Isn't that an example of the bargaining stage of grieving?

McCain might sweep all 50 states if he spends enough $$ in the correct places, like NY, Calif., and Ill. (Shhhhhh! I hope McCain's team isn't reading DU because they might pick up on our brilliant strategy!)

To: stevem

That is exactly the right read.

We are doomed to be hoaxed all the way to the election on polls.

Your internal sense is the best and most accurate sense.

Polls will give McCain the lead just to snatch it away in hopes of demoralizing you.

Experienced pundits including Bill clinton know Palin is a serious adjustment to this election that will be difficult to overcome.

She is destroying the left like Kryptonite.

In my part of Silicon Valley I've seen nary a McCain sign. Not too many Obama posters, either. Judging by yard signs, the only thing on the ballot here is the library remodel :)

California is solidly Democratic right now. A bit annoying, since we rarely see a national candidate.

44. LA County is solidly Dem, but Dems need to start moving to Southern California and the area around
Sacramento. That is 55 electoral votes. We cannot afford to lose it. This election is not a problem, even with gay marriage on the ballot, but the Republicans are trying everything to get that state, including fighting for proportional allocation of the electoral vote. We have to stay ahead of them on that.
