1. Bush is only taking over the DEBTS, not the banks.
He has no plan to interfere with their brilliant fiscal leadership; he just wants to make sure they don't get hurt.

2. I wish we WERE taking over the banks
At least then we would get something out of this.

But Bush only wants to pay the banks for their bad investments while letting them stay as public companies.

7. Yes, we need to help them out. We can
take care of their crazy high profits that are probably damaging their character.

Their crazy profits and the banks crazy debts, all ours.

Actually I keep hearing about how Iran will split the oil. I wonder why our country's natural resources should go to profit a few. Our country has many needs, the oil executives are all set.
Tuesday or Thursday we will take over the oil.

10. "The US should take over the oil industry?"
That's a conundrum. It's like the ouroboros or something.

5. False comparison, really, the oil fields were already State Property before Chavez was in office...
All he did was try to renegotiate the leases on the oil fields. Most oil companies balked, and the State Oil Company, again, predating Chavez, had to take over running the fields.

9. Bush wants to do much worse
He wishes to transfer a significant value of the country both what is leverage with the loans and our trillion dollar "transaction fee", to these banks which is a small step of evil for the traitorous chimp but a giant leap towards fascism.

Buying the banks might be the greatest coup ever, much better than the piddling :sarcasm: oil companies. Breaking off some of that indenture would in part loosen the Federal Reserve's grip on our throats.
