FL: Palin draws crowd of 60,000
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/2087436/posts

Well, that's one opinion. They link to the local news that says 18,000 tickets were issued, but it was in a Republican retirement community called 'The Villages' (population 80,000). I imagine everyone could drive their golfcart to the event. And they interviewed a pro-Obama retiree, too. I wonder how many really were excited about Palin vs. simply showing up for a community event? Big crowd, but not sure I'd write off Florida based on this event.

14. You are probably correct. The only supposed verification is the
community fire chief. He's probably the Republican precinct captain. My bad.

34. Another fire chief! Last time when reporters checked
with the fire chief they named as source the chief said they did no count, they gave no count. Secret service given as source other times said they don't count and gave no count.

It might be easier to get a fire chief to lie for them than the SS.
60,000 folks in retirement village? That would be nice if they were that motivated...but it just seems really unlikely that they'd gather in that size in the heat of Florida.

19. The local media story showed an essentially empty commons area.
This was a couple of hours before the actual event. If they really got 60,000, I'd think that the place would be packed by that point. Granted, these are the base - retired Republicans who probably aren't big on public rallies and can't just stand around for a few hours without endangering their health. But I'm curious if there are any actual pics of the event. I suspect that it rang in around 15K, maybe 20K.

15. I live about 35 minutes from the villages...
and I've been through that area many times. I honestly can't even think of a spot down there that can accommodate 60,000 people. Another thing...it's a retirement community...I know there are a lot of New Englanders there. I can't see the republican ticket getting that kind of support there. JMHO.

20. Here's a link to the local news story
http://www.cfnews13.com/MediaPlayer2/MediaPlayer.htm?video=00URXYxPalinMorning_092120080914&cat=E2008&title=Palin%20Visits%20The%20Villages

It shows the location...I assume it must be the village green or center. The report described the place as a Republican retirement community, but that there were a lot of Obama signs out.

a large crowd in the Villages, that would be news worthy of note. Bush could draw an adoring crowd every bit as large there. You know the 30 percent that still likes Bush has to live somewhere, and locally, The Villages is it.

I bet she got a crowd but nowhere near 60,000. That is bogus. The Villages are not that red to begin with, second it is a FOOTBALL sunday, third NASCAR was running today. If there is one thing I know is that Florida loves football and nascar

A fire rescue official estimated the crowd at 25,000 to 30,000, while the Republican Party of Florida pegged the audience at twice that size.

33. THAT'S the damn rally??
The one that all the Freepers are crowing about having 60,000 people there??! That looked more like 6 HUNDRED than 60,000!

It doesn't even look like that place could even contain 60,000 people. No damn way.

According to this

"A fire rescue official estimated the crowd at 25,000 to 30,000, while the Republican Party of Florida pegged the audience at twice that size."

Mmm hmmm... I THOUGHT so.... :eyes:

42. Thanks for the warning.. Turned my volume WAY down, and thank god I did..
of course the other poster that said "Turn it UP" made me curious.. Very glad I was near a toilet.. A shot of insulin might have been a good thing as well, smarmy, sillyass chump music aimed at a total wolf-decimating bitch, being called a "sweetie-pie" is too much to bear..

Considering that my sister is a Liberated woman who I've mined Gold with in the bush of Alaska this is WAY over the top..

No wonder these assholes get slaughtered like veal by evil bastards, gladly sending off their children, their "sweetie-pies" for the likes of RAW Evil like this clown and the ever present Shadow Govenor Toddie Boy..

Why don't they seceed from the Union, and take these morons with them to rule over and kill their children, so WE can save OURS? Get all the racist, facsist monsters in one place, so we can declare War on them..

It's a sickness, going along with non Reality based lies to get what they think they want.. And again, like the Fairbanks rally dud, watch for the Tight camera shots on the crowds, they zoom in close as soon as they've panned the camera too far over the crowd to avoid showing how too little the mob is..

Old camera ploy, used a lot in the Reagan era..

Saw another pic from a distance, looked to be no more than 3k, if that.. Bet they don't even abide by the population numbers when they announce their fraudulant numbers.. Arrogance of raw, evil lying sacks of shit.. The butt uglies pulling together because "cool" and "rational" scares the shit out of them.. They don't Belong, they never have and never will, but they'll goose step for Jesus all over the planet just to get even with sane people who have somehow slighted them, upstaged them with simple kindness and a caring attitude..

Love scares them to death. They'd rather Die and take their kids to he'll with them than admit to the "weakness" of humanity..

Fuck 'em.. They are so much garbage, they're dangerous in groups, and should be jailed. They'd do it to us, and in a heart beat..

Instead of "impressive" as it really is it makes it sort of a joke.
