too erratic.

Bill Clinton should not be endorsing him in any way.

10. 'Technically'?
Technically anyone who meets the following qualifications is qualified to be President. Is that the new standard?

* be a natural-born citizen of the United States;
* be at least thirty-five years old;
* have been a permanent resident in the United States for at least fourteen years.

21. No, I just mean that on paper, they both have sufficient
experience as public servants to be considered for the presidency. (Unlike Palin, for instance, who couldn't possibly even handle a seat in Congress).

I agree with you for this very simple reason - in 2004, Kerry was decidedly NOT my choice but when he became the nominee I threw my support, time, and money behind him to the fullest. Done and done.

33. DUers, will you open your eyes now? Hillary has been doing o.k. but she has more to lose
Bill doesn't. His political career is over. Therefore I believe that he is the one out there, being dispatched to shoot daggers into Obama's back. It's jealousy and envy. He doesn't really care about Obama, and has made enthusiastic statements in favor of McSame. If I were Obama, I would stop allowing Bill to speak for me. His comments damaged Hillary and now they are doing the same to Obama.

Wake up, DUers. Please understand what is really going on here...

39. Of course not, but his effusive praise of McSame isn't doing us any favors. When it comes to McSame
he has done this over and over again. His favorable comments of Obama have been lackluster at best. It's as if his eyes light up when he mentions McSame. I am looking right at Bill's face. He is different when discussing McSame. Understand that they are close friends. Bill has repeated that fact ad nauseam.

43. Well all I can do is speak for myself, a hardcore Hillary supporter who had a tough time "getting
over" the primary battle. I watched Bill's appearance on the View and he said nothing that would make me consider McCain over Obama. Whatever positive things he had to say about McCain were not surprising to me and were exactly what I would expect from a politician and someone who's not trying to cause a distraction for Obama. Bill saying McCain is qualified is not newsworthy to the press, however Bill saying McCain ISN'T qualified WOULD indeed be newsworthy AND an unnecessary distraction for the Obama campaign. Just my take on it.

47. I'm not arguing that Bill should have stated that McCain is unqualified. My problem with Bill
is that he goes out of his way to praise McCain when it is not necessary. You are a good Democrat and many of us appreciate the fact that you will support Obama, but the fact remains that there are a number of women Hillary supporting who are still trying to heal. Bill's revisionist recall of the facts during the primaries opens wounds for a lot of people, including Obama supporters. You may not have realized how underhanded Bill was, but evidently there are a lot of people here who picked up on it. Nevertheless, I am happy that you were able to look beyond the rhetoric and still support Obama; I hope Bill's behavior doesn't have the opposite effect on other Hillary supporters.

51. The majority of Hillary supporters recognize that there is little difference between her policies
and Obama's. Bill said nothing to indicate that he believes that Hillary and McCain are similar on the issues. Of course, there are a minority of Hillary supporters who apparently are voting based on gender but they are luckily in the minority. Anyone who supported Hillary based on the issues are now supporting Obama.

doing and being so transparent to Obama supporters, then I don't see how it's an effective strategy. Like I said, all I can do is speak for myself and I didn't get any indication that McCain is the better choice. And on the issues it's more than apparent that Hillary and Obama are more alike than Hillary and McCain.
