Dwight Shrute for VP???

Did you hear McCain say it this morning at his rally in Scranton? In between telling Irish jokes, he said he was hoping the staff from "The Office" was there -- that's where the ficticious branch office in the show is. He then said he was thinking of making Dwight Shrute VP before he named Sarah Palin! Does he really think lowering his VP to the level of a TV character, and total tool/fool, was a good idea? Don't enough people already think she has the same skill set of an actor? I don;t get it....

3. But don't you think...

given the "issues" with Palins experience, even joking about making another unqualified choice is ill-advised? Couldn't the campaign have some fun with it. And when someone comes back with "it was just a joke," they say "contrary to what McCain believes, we don;t think the choice of a VP is something to make light of."

2. This was a reference to an answer McCain gave on an appearance on TDS with Jon Stewart

It was his attempt to seem "hip" even though he had to read the name off a fucking note card. He's basically being panderrific and hoping people love him for his "sense of humor" and his pop culture know-itude.

This is the whole attempting to frame it as a question of characters vs the issues.
