Drudge posts his first poll in a week- chooses one showing McCain with rural lead |
|
Edited on Mon Sep-22-08 01:13 PM by Alhena
man, I know Drudge has always been a right-winger, but it's never been this blatant. When McCain had his bounce in the polls, Drudge had a banner headline to the RCP average of polls with a "will Obama get his groove back?" banner headline.
Now Obama has led for over a week, with not a single Drudge link to show for it. And today, Drudge even dredges up some poll showing McCain with a lead among rural voters. Great- so if a nuclear war wipes out our cities then McCain will win big, but, until then, the cities get to vote too. Sheesh.
I can't believe no one has created a serious competitor to this moron's website- hell, any one of us could make some website with news links.

5. This is actually a very bad poll for McCain |
|
If he maintains only a 10% rural lead, he's finished, swamped in the cities and suburbs. Bush won that vote by 20% in 2004. Of course, Bush was only up 10% at this time as well, but I don't see McCain picking up the same rural momentum as Bush in the home stretch. Obama could lose the rural vote by 17% and still win handily.
This poll certainly has people in the McCain camp worried sick. Expect a big rural initiative by McCain in the coming week and a half.

7. Fortunately, we allow cities to vote as well, despite having both liberal elitists and minorities. |

he hasn't posted the gallup daily since mccain lost his lead. before, he updated it instantly
has anyone else noticed how behind-the-curve drudge is these days on breaking news? I've seen stories turn up on blogs and other sites 4-5 days before matt picks them up.
it seems every major story this year has been broken by either politico or huffington. unfortunately, the punditocracy stil sees drudge as their assignment desk and they use his headlines as their talking points. but even that's been slipping lately.
