Barack Obama will have at least one...
republican in his administration, perhaps more.

If this bothers you then throw in the towel right now. Once Barack is elected we will slowly see the partisanship reduced to a mere peep. Anybody not willing to 'play ball' will be left in the dust.

I live in Illinois and have seen how Barack works. His administration will not be paralyzed by the republican base, there will be olive branches, there will be compromise, he will not be stopped from governing the nation.

I am not sure what the majority of Democrats expect from Barack once he is elected, I am not sure they even know of what they are asking of him ... Barack Obama is not just a change in party, he is a complete game changer. One thing I can assure you of ....everybody will be disappointed at one time or another...but we will move forward.

Honesty, Credibility, Sincerity, Integrity, Loyalty, Respectable, Change, Truth, and Victory.

I see a sunny sky above a sunny sky.

Steady as she goes people.

Not happily though.

3. It's absurd to think the opposition is ir-relevant.
They're not just going to disappear for our convenience.

We are not going to round them up and put them in concentration camps, not shoot them like some of them would prefer to "happen" to us.

Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.

4. He cares too much for doctrinaire anybody to stop results. Read ruthless pragmatism this weekend.
Problems too great, and too personal, for anything other than forward-thinking and working together.

6. As one of his heroes is Lincoln, I would expect that.
I trust Obama. And that's not a word I think I've ever used in regard to a politician. I may question why he might take some particular action, but I trust this man to act from a place that begins with the best interest of American citizens.

8. Depends on the Republican
I'd throw a fit if it was some neanderthal but if he can find one of the remaining Republicans who actually believes in something, no problem.

9. I don't mind him crossing party lines to do his job. I'd prefer he did.
I just don't want him selling out to a bunch of crooks. There are still some good and decent Republicans out there. he has the potential to heal both parties. This is what we need for a healthy democracy.

10. I've thought there might be a Secretary of State Richard Lugar.
I agree with you.

I think there will be Republicans in his administration.

I agree with the last comments in your post as well.

I have always respected him - at least he brings Indiana up a notch. There's a lot of wingnuts running the place. x(
