As someone who would have loved to go after Bill Clinton
I watched the View and I just didn't see any reason for all the attacks, here at DU, on the man. He sounded just like he claimed to be, a man who is no longer involved with politics. He was thoughtful and gave a glimpse into what a brilliant mind he has. I guess it would have been nice to have him come on and do a campaign appearance for Obama, but to the best of my knowledge he has never been asked. So if you are not asked and you are no longer in politics, why he have talked any different than he did? I see no reason no to acceept his position at face value. He was out of politics and has plenty of projects to keep him busy. He briefly returned to politics to help out his wife, but I am sure he was more than happy to leave it again. I am sure the bitter primary battle reminded him of what he didn't like about politics.

2. "why he have talked any different than he did?"
Um, maybe because the country is falling apart, the economy is tanking and I just got stuck with the rich mans bill... AGAIN! Maybe because our children are dying in a war, or because fucking Betty Boop is next in line for the Republican presidency. Or because our health care system awards the rich and sinks the poor, our because public schools suck.. I don't know I can't think of any reason that Clinton should be praising Obama while crapping all over McCain.

So why bother to appear on Television 40 days prior to the election?

Why doesn't he go a play golf or something?

I'm hanging by a thread over here. I'd like some fucking assistance.

15. Bill Clinton is being Divisive and that is Unforgivable and
at this point in history. He needs to be held accountable for his "Hillary won the popular vote in the primaries" LIE!

11. Wait, he has time to go on day-time television shows and be ambivalent about who he wants to see
in the Oval Office - but must wait until OCTOBER before he can campaign for Obama? :eyes: Thanks Bill.

10. He's going to campaign for Obama after his Clinton Foundation meeting is over.
He said so after he met with Obama several days ago. So of course he's not out of politics; he's just doing his annual "challenge" thing this week, which is always nonpartisan. He's going on the Daily Show tomorrow for the same reason.

But yes, the drama queen hysterics his appearance generated here were, as always, ludicrous.

12. I think he would have been given a pass on this middle of the road politispeak...
Had it not been for the fact that we are currently being sold to the highest bidder and life as we know it is about to change drastically.

So, tell me, Bill. Where are your US dollars now? In Euros? I'm thinking Kroner, myself.

13. The way some go after Bill Clinton proves one thing.
Bill Clinton threatens you. Nothing you can say or do changes the
fact that Bill Clinton is a star and beloved by many many average
Americans.

14. As a former POTUS
I would think that he would love this country enough to speak up about what this country needs, as we did when we elected him.

As a former POTUS he should still care about the path this country takes.

As a former POTUS he is still receiving benefits paid by the American tax payers, which means he is still employed by the American people, so he cannot decide now that he is "out of politics".

As a former POTUS he owes us everything he has, and that means to lay down his pride an do what is right for the country not what is right for him.

I am very tired of having to read about how great of a President he was, where is he now? How much of a champion of democratic principles he was, what is he championing now? He was very good for this country for 8 years, where has he been the last 8?
