would they hold the American economy hostage in order to maintain power? Are they pushing this bailout to cause the Dems to say we need to put some safeguards in it with respect to the average American homeowner, exec payout, etc - so if the economy does go bust before anything is passed - it will be blamed on the Dems? Are they then expecting an overwhelming vote by American's for McCain?

3. Remember that there was a right wing coup d'etat in 2000

revolutionary governments to not give up power without a fight, without extreme force. Remember that they stole presidential elections in both 2000 and 2004. By definition, they are capable of anything and will stop at absolutely nothing. This is gravely serious. We need to be very careful and be very vigilant. Expect and prepare for anything. is the ability to manipulate terrorists at home (e.g. anthrax) and abroad (e.g. mujahideen) to grab the headlines and shake things up. I don't know how the Dems can combat that but they need to gain allies in the defense and intelligence communities who are patriotic enough to block Bushco manipulations.
