Asked about the series of errors, McCain aides could not provide evidence to back up Schmidt’s assertions.

One McCain aide, Michael Goldfarb, said Politico was “quibbling with ridiculously small details when the basic things are completely right.”

Another, Brian Rogers, responded more directly:

The problem is that even some in the US media have realized how fundamentally full of shit McCain's campaign is.

OTOH since the last time that McSame's campaign started bashing the press and hiding Palin away in the name of "deference", the media and pundits have, by in large, gotten MORE critical of McSame/Palin. I believe I read somewhere here that normally stalwart conservative commentators like GEORGE WILL have started expressing doubt and criticism of McSame and haven't there been some negative (or at least skeptical) stories about McSame/Palin in the NATIONAL REVIEW (a publication not normally considered to be "in the tank" for Democrats)?

Is this all they have left??? They MUST be rather desperate to start lashing out McSame's so-called "base".
