DON'T DU these PBS Polls, that's right, there are two different polls that suck.
By now we should all be familiar with:

Do you think Sarah Palin is qualified to serve as Vice President of the United States?

Yes 51%
No 48%
Not Sure 0%

http://www.pbs.org/now/polls/poll-435.html

But what about this one?:

Who do you trust more to fix the nation's economic mess?

Barack Obama 36%
John McCain 63%

The links are legitimate and can be found by beginning at the PBS homepage, but the results are crap, and certainly nothing I'm going to advocate DU trying to change.

My advice: Go there to vote if you must, but don't expect the numbers to change.

1. Hey, have you heard about the PBS poll? Vote NOW!!!! (how about no one else posts them)
Thanks for the post, I am tired of someone posting the poll, having just come upon it, then having others insult for doing so rather than simply repeating what you posted in your op.

Thanks for posting it. k&r

2. Thanks for the rec, it was risky to post and I still may catch hell!
It was also suggested that some conspiracy was afoot about the very existence of the poll, but it's legit, though the results are anything but.

One can go to PBS and find #437, #435 (the Palin post) is no longer on the PBS/NOW page.

:patriot:

7. Pssssst.
Hey 1corona4u,

If you want to help a Dem Candidate with a little donation, just 5 bucks, it would help make her day.

She's running to steal a NH house seat and all her signs were stolen, I've set up a link and DU has taken her little campaign fund from $300 up to $450 in about an hour.

Thanks if you can help, I alway enjoy your posts...

And if you can't spare a little, at least kick it for Syndy Smith in NH!

4. Highlight all to see the vote counts
Who do you trust more to fix the nation's economic mess? is at Total Votes: 1098769.

You can vote over and over on this poll, no oversight (typical right wing strategy)

9. I have an idea which I just used...
Go to PBS's Now's "contact us" feedback and tell them it is suspect. Ask what test of validity they are using for this poll.

Seems like a good thing to do.

10. You know ...
I've never once "DU'd" a poll. Does that make me a bad person? I've never "atheisted" or "skepticked" a poll, either (two other groups I self-identify with and read message boards about).

I've just never seen the point. It seems like a dreadful waste. If we took all the labor-hours combined from people trying to move a meaningless internet poll one way or the other and did something useful with them, like writing letters to the editor or writing to our reps in washington, it might actually make a difference.

I'm not saying that people who do respond to these poll requests DON'T do anything else that's useful. I just think the time could be better spent.

(And don't tell me it only takes a second to do these polls. People are constantly refreshing their browser, watching the numbers change, etc. That's time consuming.)
