What to say when someone says the Democrats are to blame |
|
Edited on Mon Sep-22-08 05:57 PM by iwillalwayswonderwhy
I heard somebody blathering today that the tanking of the economy is the fault of the Democrats.
I told them that was funny, because the Republicans certainly haven't been warning us that the economy was in danger. In fact, they kept insisting that everything was fine, or even great. This either means they knew it was coming and didn't try to warn us, or do anything to stop it, or that they were taken by complete surprise, which means they aren't really that savvy when it comes to economics.
I then asked, "so which is it?"

republicans need something shot back at them in bumper sticker length
I just usually reply, "I didn't know george w. bush was a democrat."
never defend, always be on the offensive, make them explain themselves.
we don't owe them an explanation for shit. they caused it all on their own.

5. Always a good tactic. Get them to choose, when both are bad. |
|
As in: "Was he lying then, or is he lying now?" "They either did it on purpose, or they're the most incompetant in history. Which is it?"

9. tell them bush inc was communist |
|
shift the goalpost of the discussion- make him defend YOUR position. Say junyer and the neocons from reagan era all started out as commies, and they suckered USA by pretending they was rightwing reactionary. As a matter of fact, on GCN etc (reactionary radio stations) that is what the goofs are saying. The dems are only guilty of not fighting back, being wimps etc!
