Naomi Wolf: The Battle Plan II: Sarah "Evita" Palin, the Muse of the Coming Police State
The Battle Plan II: Sarah "Evita" Palin, the Muse of the Coming Police State

Please understand what you are looking at when you look at Sarah "Evita" Palin. You are looking at the designated muse of the coming American police state.

You have to understand how things work in a closing society in order to understand "Palin Power." A gang or cabal seizes power, usually with an affable, weak figurehead at the fore. Then they will hold elections -- but they will make sure that the election will be corrupted and that the next affable, weak figurehead is entirely in their control. Remember, Russia has Presidents; Russia holds elections. Dictators and gangs of thugs all over the world hold elections. It means nothing. When a cabal has seized power you can have elections and even presidents, but you have freedom.

I realized early on with horror what I was seeing in Governor Palin: the continuation of the Rove-Cheney cabal, but this time without restraints. I heard her echo Bush 2000 soundbites ("the heart of America is on display") and realized Bush's speechwriters were writing her -- not McCain's -- speeches. I heard her tell George Bush's lies -- not McCain's -- to the American people, linking 9/11 to Iraq. I heard her make fun of Barack Obama for wanting to prevent the torture of prisoners -- this is Rove-Cheney's enthusiastic S and M, not McCain's, who, though he shamefully colluded in the 2006 Military Tribunals Act, is also a former prisoner of war and wrote an eloquent Newsweek piece in 2005 opposing torture. I saw that she was even styled by the same skillful stylist (neutral lipstick, matte makeup, dark colors) who turned Katharine Harris from a mall rat into a stateswoman and who styles all the women in the Bush orbit --but who does not bother to style Cindy McCain.

Then I saw and heard more. Palin is embracing lawlessness in defying Alaskan Legislature subpoenas --this is what Rove-Cheney, and not McCain, believe in doing. She uses mafia tactics against critics, like the police commissioner who was railroaded for opposing handguns in Alaskan battered women's shelters -- Rove's style, not McCain's. I realized what I was seeing.

Reports confirmed my suspicions: Palin, not McCain, is the FrankenBarbie of the Rove-Cheney cabal. The strategy became clear. Time magazine reported that Rove is "dialed in" to the McCain campaign. Rove's protégé Steve Schmidt is now campaign manager. And Politico reported that Rove was heavily involved in McCain's vice presidential selection. Finally a new report shows that there are dozens of Bush and Rove operatives surrounding Sarah Palin and orchestrating her every move.

2. Two words: Serena Joy.
Anybody who has ever read Atwood's Handmaid's Tale will no exactly what I'm referring to; Palin is a harbinger of a clique of ultra-fascists whose names deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as Pol Pot and Nicolae Ceausescu.

Whoooaaah - Couldn't agree with you more. I immediately went back to that book and re-read it two weeks ago. She is an eerie reminder of that ideology - isn't she? Ironically - I found/discovered Naomi Wolf around the same time I discovered Margaret Atwood and Oates (Freshman in College). I'm going back to spring of 1992 and thinking how much Wolf's ideology has evolved and kept pace with what is going on in the world. Then I'm also thinking about Faludi's book - Backlash.

She (Palin) personifies the backlash . . .

25. Joesph Stalin + Sarah Palin ---- parallels
Stalin & Palin were both from "backwater annexes" to their home nations, considered worthy of ridicule.

Stalin & Palin were both single-minded about being "popular" at any cost, stooping to Machiavellian tactics to ensure pop status.

Stalin & Palin were "failed artists" (along with Adolf) -- in Palin's case, a failed attempt to be a national ESPN sportscaster icon.

Stalin & Palin were/are obsessed with loyalty, and kept/keep lifelong loyalists in their employ.

Stalin & Palin were/are obsessed with secrecy.

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

26. as scary as all this is, here's the absolutely terrifying part . . .
"A gang or cabal seizes power, usually with an affable, weak figurehead at the fore. Then they will hold elections -- but they will make sure that the election will be corrupted and that the next affable, weak figurehead is entirely in their control. . . .

while I admire the optimism of posters who opine that "Obama will win in a landslide," I fear they aren't paying sufficient attention to recent history . . .

it happened in 2000 . . .

it happened in 2004 . . .

and it's going to happen in 2008 . . .

who's going to stop them? . . . the Congress? . . . the Supreme Court? . . . the corporate media? . . .

I fear for the future of my country like I have never feared before . . . they WILL steal this election -- and there's probably not a damned thing we can do to stop them . . .

about the only thing that MAY disrupt their planned theft is a landslide so large that election fraud would be too obvious to ignore . . . but I don't see that happening, not in a nation where a certain percentage of the electorate will still vote against any candidate who isn't white, Anglo-Saxon, and Protestant . . .

32. As scary as Wolf's article is, the dailykos link scared me even more.
If Sarah Palin may hold apocalyptic end-time beliefs or believes that she has a divine mandate to initiate an end-time conflict, American voters have the right to know about the doctrines taught in Palin's Alaska churches. These churches are closely associated with a movement, called the Third Wave or New Apostolic Reformation, which holds views that are highly controversial, particularly among other conservative Christians who are most aware of this fast growing international phenomenon. The activities of the movement have been condemned as heresy by the General Council of the Assemblies of God, to which two of Palin’s churches currently belong. Accusations even stronger than ‘heresy’, decrying the "Third Wave" religious movement, have been launched from Fundamentalist and Evangelical Christian groups.

Our focus on Palin's churches does not "bash religion" and has been praised by conservative Christians for its academic rigor. We are examining the religious views promoted at Palin's churches because the Third Wave / New Apostolic Reformation movement rejects pluralism and its followers believe they have been anointed by God to lead a unified superchurch into the final age - both of which have public policy implications.

Sarah Palin has every right to hold whatever religious views she chooses but, by the same token, the American people have every right to know what Palin's religious beliefs are - especially to the extent that they may include the view that all other religious and philosophical views but her own are under the influence of demonic powers and that believing Christians must conquer the Earth and cleanse it of evil in this final generation.

Our primary focus is not with the hyper-charismatic manifestations, ‘outpourings’, associated with the "Third Wave" movement in which those 'slain', 'washed' or 'soaking' in the spirit bark, howl and shriek, shake spasmodically, laugh or sob, crawl about on all fours, bang their heads on walls, and fall into stupors - all which the participants seem to enjoy. Neither is our main focus on problematic healing sessions, in which demons are expelled, that sometimes involve patients being kicked or head butted. Our focus is on beliefs behind these manifestations – such as the idea that these outpourings indicate that the participants are part of an "army of God" and comprise the final generation before the end times. Also problematic is that these healings and supernatural works are seen not as "divine intervention" by God but as the result of supernatural gifts imparted to those humans "anointed" to participant in ridding the world of evil.

From a standpoint of public policy it is significant that Third Wave doctrine teaches that their leaders are raising a generation of youth who will be imparted with supernatural powers and form a conquering Christian army. These youth, often referred to as Joel’s Army and as the generation born after 1973, will purge the earth in preparation for Jesus’ return. The movement features special gatherings of believers to use "spiritual warfare" to purge "territorial demons" and end "generational curses" in order to transform the cities of America and the world. Social reform thus takes place through the expulsion of demons.

Third Wave doctrine is an example of an extreme religious exceptionalism - not only are all other religious and philosophical belief systems on Earth seen as invalid and under satanic influence, but Third Wave theology sees all competing branches, sects and denominations of Christianity, particularly other conservative Christians who refuse to join "the river" of these outpourings, as an obstacle to God’s divine will. Third Wave adherents believe that other Christian churches must drop their competing doctrines, which prevent them from joining this final end-time army, and group together under the new authority of the Apostles and Prophets of this final age. In other words, true believers will join together, in one triumphant end time church, to do battle against evil in the final generation. C. Peter Wagner, a central figure in the organization of the movement, believes that this second Apostolic age began in 2001 and that it is "heralding the most radical change in the way of doing church at least since the Protestant Reformation." He also claims that this international movement under the direction of his Apostles is the only large sector of Christianity growing faster worldwide than Islam.

Wagner and his Apostles monitor their progress through the World Prayer Center in Colorado Springs, attached to the New Life church formerly led by Ted Haggard. Leading Apostles and Prophets with titles such as "Generals of Intercession" go on spiritual warfare ventures with names like "Operation Ice Castle" - to attack the territorial demons which they believe prevent Muslims and Roman Catholics from embracing the true faith. In one such venture, one of the participants happily testified that she believed their efforts against the demon, "the Queen of Heaven", may have resulted in the death of Mother Theresa.

The American public has a right to know that Sarah Palin, Alaska governor and now GOP vice presidential candidate, may hold such views. And YouTube, as an evolving Fourth-Estate media institution, has the responsibility of refraining from censoring efforts at informing the American public about Palin's likely beliefs.

On June 8, 2008 in the Wasilla Assembly of God, her church of over 25 years, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin declared United States military forces in Iraq to be "out on a task that is from God." Head Pastor of that church, Ed Kalnins, has also made statements indicating that he views the current conflict in Iraq as part of an apocalyptic end-times struggle. Palin recently stated her enthusiasm, in a widely televised interview, for war with Russia - a country that, along with the United States, possesses vast stockpiles of intercontinental nuclear ballistic missiles. The American public has a right to know if Palin believes, as does the Third Wave movement in which her churches take part, that she has a divine mandate or "anointing" to do battle to purge those she views as evil from the world.

Most Americans do not want an American jihad to conquer the world in the name of God let alone a global nuclear war. Judging from the churches Palin attends and from her public statements we have to take very seriously the prospect of having a Vice President, a heartbeat away from the United States presidency, who holds such apocalyptic goals.

36. It has been my belief for sometime that McCain sold his soul to Rove/Cheney
This may seem like a conspiracy theory but I believe it. Looking back early in the primaries, his campaign was dead - couldn't afford gas in the straight talk bus. I think the Cheney group looked at their options: the Mormon, the cross-dresser-9/11 mayor, the religious freak and got worried. Thompson proved to be a dud, and so they regrouped and picked McCain as their best bet. Health concerns and wife's addiction may have been the leverage they needed. I think McCain wants to be president - but it is no longer on his terms. I am not saying he is a great guy but come on - he is not the same man he was in 2000 or even 2006. McCain now looks pained - like he cant believe the shit that is coming out of his mouth. That's why he is so unconvincing, he hates to say it as much as we hate to hear it. I am no McCain fan - but looking at past McCain speeches and contrasting them with today, you have to be blind not to see it.

There is no way he picked Palin - Rachel Maddow said it best when she said she wants the opportunity to vote for the person who really picked Palin - because that is who is running for President.

I will vote for Obama of course, never has been a doubt that I will vote Dem. But deep down I am terrified and Naomi's book and this article confirm my fears... I believe this election will be stolen as well. I want to believe Obama will win - and seriously he probably will, but I doubt he will make it to office - I just can't see the power hungry demons letting it happen - either theft of the election, 'surprise war' or something will happen.

39. Here you go: "Army Unit to Deploy in October for Domestic Operations"
Edited on Tue Sep-23-08 04:29 PM by ReadTomPaine
"Beginning in October, the Army plans to station an active unit inside the United States for the first time to serve as an on-call federal response in times of emergency. The 3rd Infantry Division’s 1st Brigade Combat Team has spent thirty-five of the last sixty months in Iraq, but now the unit is training for domestic operations. The unit will soon be under the day-to-day control of US Army North, the Army service component of Northern Command. The Army Times reports this new mission marks the first time an active unit has been given a dedicated assignment to Northern Command. The paper says the Army unit may be called upon to help with civil unrest and crowd control. The soldiers are learning to use so-called nonlethal weapons designed to subdue unruly or dangerous individuals and crowds.

40. I read that, and I think Wolf has a good argument. The similarities
Edited on Tue Sep-23-08 04:31 PM by wienerdoggie
between the Bush/Cheney/Rove empire and McCain/Palin/Rove (protege Steve Schmidt) are very, very disturbing. The fact that all of the Bush people are hard at work crafting the Palin image and message, while essentially ignoring McLoser, is very frightening--it means McLoser isn't going to last long as President, one way or another, and he may even realize that, for all we know. And the image they're promoting of her is EXACTLY the same as Chimpy--Christian compassionate conservative, reformer with results, "bipartisan" popular Governor, oil expert, Texas-next-to-Mexico as foreign policy experience, "regular guy/girl" you want to have a beer with, etc.--an attempt to repeat the same successful formula. She's just as paranoid and narcissistic, just as demanding of "loyalty" as Chimpy, just as lazy, and will be just as easily manipulated into figurehead status. And this time, she'll be a true believer, not a Crazy-Fundie-for-electoral-purposes-only like Bush.

46. Compare the behavior of Bush Admin to 1930's Germany
Mobs of young men dressed in identical shirts shouting outside a voting center in Florida to intimidate people to stop a recount.
Mobs of men dressed in identical shirts (brown shirts) stood near voting stations shouting and intimidating people.

Mobs of young republicans are organized by the National Party to make bonfires and burn CD's produced by the Dixie Chicks
Mobs of Brown shirts and Hitler Youth are organized by the Nazi Party to make bonfires and burn books written by those they disagreed with

Members of the Young republicans are shaming academics for saying something they disagreed about.
Members of the Nazi Party would shame academics for saying something they disagreed about.

The FBI being told to stop peace activists flying or boarding aircraft on orders of the White House.
The German authorities were instructed to stop peace activists and other “trouble makers” at airports.

When the US invaded Iraq V.P. Cheney asserted we would be “greeted as liberators”.
When the Nazi's invaded the Rhineland, Nazi propaganda asserted that they would be “greeted as liberators”

Bush Administration using phrases such as we will find terrorists “hiding in their spider-holes”
Nazi's would find their enemies “hiding in their spider-holes”

The Bush administration increased security restrictions at airports. Airport security guards were forcing passengers to drink their own breast milk. Others to drink baby formula in front of all the other passengers
One of Mussolini's intimidation tactics was to force citizens to drink body fluids and emetics in public. The Nazi's followed suit with breast milk and urine in front of the other passengers

2002 Bush created the “Department of Homeland Security” White house spokespeople started referring to the United States as the “homeland” for the first time in history instead of the nation or republic.
1930 Nazi propagandists started to refer to
Germany not as the Nation or Republic but rather “Der Heimat” - “the homeland” Deputy Fuhrer Rudolf Hess Formed a “Department of Homeland Security”

2001 USA Patriot Act let federal officials compel doctors to hand over confidential medical records without a warrant showing probable cause.
1930 German doctors were required to disclose citizens previously private medical records to the state.

2005 Guantanamo prisoners reported seeing the Koran being flushed down toilets.
1938 the Gestapo forced Jews to scrub out toilets with their sacred phylacteries, the tfillin.

Amnesty International reports US interrogators tormented prisoners by playing heavy metal at top volume day and night.
1938 the Gestapo interrogators tormented prisoners by playing music on the radio at top volume day and night.

Iraqi human rights group complained that in 2004 the US forces seized the innocent wives of suspected insurgents and held the women hostage to pressure their husbands to turn themselves in.
In Stalinist Russia, the secret police seized the innocent wives of suspected dissidents and held the women hostage to pressure their husbands to turn themselves in.

After 9/11 National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice and V.P. Cheney coined a new phrase: America was now on a permanent “war footing” but we were not actually at war.
Nazi leaders said after the Reichstag fire that Germany was now on a “war footing” but were not actually at war. But would remain pertinently on a “war footing”

The Bush White House “embedded” reporters with U.S. Military units in Iraq. Uncritical coverage of the war expanded considerably.
Nazi propaganda officials embedded reporters and camera crews with their armed forces. U.S reporters drove with German units into France.

The Bush administration unloads coffins of dead American soldiers from planes at night and has forbidden photographs being taken of them.
The Nazi's unloaded the coffins of German military dead only at night and no photographs were allowed.

Paid informants having received hundreds of thousands of dollars found a “sleeper cell” in Lodi, California. The two men explained later that they had confessed to the imaginary “sleeper cell” to end the terrifying series of interrogations.

“Sleeper cell” was a term most Americans were unfamiliar with until a TV movie in 2005 Making sure the general population were alerted to the threat made everyone suspicious,
Stalin invented “Sleeper cells” and had paid informants find them among the general public. Stalin said that the US Government was planting the sleepers so that one day they could all rise up and create mayhem

In 2006 a terrorist plot against US bound planes uncovered in London gave the world a much quoted sound bite. “If this had actually happened the world would have stood still”
In 1940 after Hitler had set up his plan for world domination said that if everything happens as planned “the world will hold it's breath”

At first the only people held at Guantanamo Cuba were brown skinned foreigners, in October 2006 that changed and white English speaking prisoners began to appear. They had been charged with treason, espionage, subversion and aiding the enemy. Enemies of the State.
At first the Germans arrested only the Communists and criminals and enemies of the state and placed them in concentration camps. But is was not long before he turned his attention to a group long held as potential spy's and subversives the Jews. Enemies of the State.

2007 Bush had started to criminalize speech in new ways. Journalists who write articles criticizing the Bush Administration are being arrested and released after a warning, editors are being treated the same way. Journalists are subject to arrest, torture, and trial by tribunal outside judicial system
1938 Germany started to crack down on anyone who did not agree with the Nazi philosophy. Journalists were arrested and released after a warning, editors were treated the same way. Anyone criticizing the Nazi party or any official of the party was subject to arrest, torture, and trial not in a German court but by tribunal outside the normal judicial system

2006 Bush administration passed a bill to setup Military Tribunal Courts. This gives the leaders of the Bush administration the authority to establish a separate justice system without the right to due process, a lawyer, or a trail in the normal court system.
1937 The Nazi's passed a law and setup Military Tribunal Courts. This gave the Leaders of the Nazi Party the authority to establish a separate justice system without the right to due process, a lawyer, or a trail in the normal court system.

47. Protect The Election
I too fear a police state where elections are merely a sham. I wrote the following to the United Nations and urge you to send similar requests.

Ladies and Gentleman,

As a concerned citizen of the United States I have serious doubts about the integrity of the upcoming election on November 4th 2008. We have Republicans who say they helped rig voting machines in 2004. We have Republicans sending bogus letters to voters in close states telling citizens they cannot vote. These are only a couple of the underhanded methods being employed to ensure a favorable outcome for the Republicans. If these activities were employed in a third world nation purporting to hold democratic elections there would be a monitoring of the elections by third parties from a group such as the United Nations. I firmly believe American rights are in jeopardy and request that the United Nations step in to monitor all election processes and proceedings in the United States.

Sincerely,

Richard C. Smith

I then sent the UN this article to further illustrate the cause for my concern.

I wrote yesterday stating my fears about the coming election in the United States. This looks a lot like a banana republic to me.

Army Unit to Deploy in October for Domestic Operations

Beginning in October, the Army plans to station an active unit inside the United States for the first time to serve as an on-call federal response in times of emergency.

Sincerely,

Richard C. Smith

59. Confirms my theory exactly...
My partner and I were just discussing this a few nights ago - that Palin is the neo-con mafia's "new Bush". In comparing Palin to Bush in 1999, the good ol' down-home boy running for president, but whom was considered by most to be a joke of a candidate. Now I'm seeing history repeating itself in Palin, who has become the butt of most American's jokes since her VP announcement. Palin and Bush are eerily similar on so many counts; her bursting forth into the national political stage, from virtually out of nowhere -- just as Bush Jr. did -- is no coincidence. If the neo-cons succeed in stealing the 2008 election, as they did in 2000 and 2004, McCain will be lucky to finish out even one term. You can bet that the evildoers (Rove, Cheney, et al) will do all they can to fast-track Palin into the presidency so they can have yet another stupid puppet in office that will serve as "charming figurehead" whilst
Bush Sr/Cheney/Rove's shadow government pushes the U.S. irreversibly into a fascist state and, through unbridled warfare, redefines the rest of the world in accordance to their New World Order.

Nevertheless, babylonsister, thanks for posting this important, albeit, scary as hell, piece. I'll grab a cup o' joe and suffer through the rest as I would getting a cavity filled or changing the kitty litter -- it's just so damned necessary.

Some Dems have lost the ability to see that Repubs
are actually human and make utterly stupid self-destructive
decisions, sometimes one right after another, as theyre doing
right now. The reason Roviots won before was that they had
people to run against who werent sure who they were. Obama
knows who he is. Surprise.
