Steve Schmidt is a poor man's Karl Rove

It's really kind of funny to watch. As evidenced by his whining, shticky, overly defensive conference call today, he wants so badly to have the same ability to slice and dice the country as Rove had in '00. The difference between him and Rove is that Rove was good at it and never allowed himself to be as transparent as Schmidt is being. He really makes me sick, in that he thinks that American's are dumb enough to buy the bullshit he is peddling.


He also annoys me because he acts like he'd blazing new trails when really he's just a derivative.

Time magazine reported that Rove is "dialed in" to the McCain campaign. Rove's protégé Steve Schmidt is now campaign manager. And Politico reported that Rove was heavily involved in McCain's vice presidential selection. Finally a new report shows that there are dozens of Bush and Rove operatives surrounding Sarah Palin and orchestrating her every move.
