I finally got the courage to confront her tonight after giving up some time ago. She said she was voting for Obama. Realizes the repukes have made a mess of the country. That they're liars out for the top 1%.

15. My 90 year old Republican mom is voting Obama too! |
|
She said that the Democrats of today are closer to the Republican Party of her youth than the GOP is today. She calls those who support McCain "deluded".

Thanks for being a good sport about my "joke". I am heartened when my ilk bring another good person into the world, and horrified by the reverse.

Of course, she's been a supporter since the days of the "Draft Obama" movement. I take it your mom is usually Republican?

23. Dem turned repuke by a stepfather who loved Oliver North.(omg) |
|
I'll never forget those days of screaming with them about how misinformed they were. We were estranged for a very long time. He passed away 12 years ago. She's had the past 8 to see for herself what the repukes are really all about.

6. Oh, I was so excited I forgot to elaborate. |
|
She was a southern working class democrat lured by the sinister tactics of republicans from way back. I've been trying to reason with her for years. Trying to get her to see the truth of what the repukes are really all about. I think she has finally seen the light. it's been about 30 years coming on. One more for our side!

All my close relatives and friends have been for Obama but I'd like to hear about any of the people I know of who've always voted for bush have an epiphany just ONCE.

29. I'm not exactly sure. We started talking about the 'financial crisis" |
|
I told her I was reeling form all the news and that I wanted to discuss it with a relative who works with JP Morgan. I just asked if she was finally convinced the republicans didn't have the best interests of the country at heart and she said yes. I asked her if she would be voting the right way this year and she confirmed that she would be voting for Obama. I think it could have been Palin. She's the antithesis of what my mother thinks a person should be. I think it is easier for her to observe this in a woman.

9. BTW-We're in NC! I've so far gotten 6 confirmed Obama votes from former republicans |
|
due to my relentless habit of exposing them to the truth. It just took the truth a while to sink into my mom. So My vote has multiplied by 6. I think if they don't steal it, we could win NC with a lot of Reagan defectors coming back into the fold

by Reagan. Some are seeing the light! Things had to get so dark to make it happen though. I hope we can save this country at this late hour.

24. At the time of his second election, I had been very idealistic and had the view |
|
that I would not participate in "their" world. Thought I could do better just living right and being a good friend and neighbor. When he was up for re-election I decided I had to be a part of the political process. Realized there really was a difference between the parties. I was young.

11. My mom once called Obama a Muslim, and now LOVES him and gave him money. |
|
Once McCain picked Palin, it pissed her off.
She researched it, admitted she was wrong, and got on board.
Yay for mom's you never thought would have voted Obama.

14. I asked her had she ever seen a politician act more like a grown up in the face |
|
of the lies thrown at him. She expressed that she was impressed by this. I think his decision to stay the intelligent, compassionate, above the bull-shit person he really is has paid off for folks who recognize the difference between right and wrong when they are allowed to see it.
