I am working for Obama...
I've never been this involved in a Presidential campaign before.

My job is very small, almost insignificant, but it might help us win...

I have to say that even though my job is small, I am pretty busy with it. I have friends who are politically active a lot more than I am, who are almost always working on one campaign or another, and my admiration and respect for them just took a huge jump...

How do people do it?

I don't know...

But I do know how much I respect them.

Aw, you're welcome!

My work here is actually going to help in the state we adopted: Nevada!

I'm scheduling folks to do the data entry work that will be generated by the folks who are doing the calls into Nevada!

We hope to identify the people who are leaning towards Obama there, so we can persuade them to come aboard!

We want to turn silver Nevada BLUE!

12. Hi Peggy!
Edited on Mon Sep-22-08 11:31 PM by SpookyCat
I don't know how people do it either, but I feel that anything one does is good.

"each to his own abilities, each to his own needs..."

I'm going to Nevada weekend after next to canvas, (so freaked out!) phone banking, the occasional Move On thing here in my appt. I recently got one of my least politically involved friends registered to vote for the first time, and a promise she is going to vote!

So I think anything you do is meaningful, and just think how good it will feel when we WIN!!!

:hi:

I see you're in San Francisco...

We have people going to Las Vegas from here too...

And they will be doing the same sorts of things you'll be doing!

I agree...all contributions are meaningful, and how right you are about how damn good it will feel to WIN!

I can hardly wait!

15. Keep up the good work.. K & R
You are helping us avoid four more years of Republican stupidity, mendacity, abuse of the environment, curtailment of civil liberties, and war crimes.

This is a really important election.

Thank you for your very kind words!

I strongly agree about avoiding four more years of Republican stupidity etc...

I believe that this election is the most important one of my entire life.

I'm hoping that any contribution of mine, however small, will help make the difference between victory and defeat for our country.

31. I want to say thank you to all of those volunteering for Obama
across the country, including you Peggy. I not in a position to do that this year, but I know from doing it in 2004 that it is both tiresome and rewarding. It is especially rewarding when the candidate is Obama. The guy is special, at least I think he is.

All I can manage this year is I am sending out information I find here and on the net to some of my email friends who are then sending it out to their network of friends. They are reaching so many more people than I can, but I feel like I do a little good if I help them find the information. They have lives, so they don't have the time like I do for all the latest news. ;)

Anyway, again I thank all of you for sacrificing your time and energy for this election. May the powers that be show us some mercy and not allow the repugs steal another one from us.

I volunteer with other local Dems here registering people to vote on weekends in front of grocery stores and wish I could help in Nevada. I haven't done phone work because my voice won't take it and I really like getting out there in person. I want Obama/Biden to win so much! Thank you for working for the campaign.

The only way we have a chance is with volunteers who are willing to pound the pavement and register voters, and walk precincts. This is an old school election in an internet era, and I love it.
