No point in rehashing the primaries. |

Bill's kind of annoying me, but there are more important matters.

8. Go make a donation to Obama |

It'll ease your pressure knowing that you're helping to keep McCain out of the White House.

2. Bush makes Clinton look good. If we have a really good Dem President, |
|
Bill fades away.
Its all ego, because if it were about the good of the country, he would be campaigning non-stop for Obama with heart and enthusiasm.

4. Ok, I have to address this before calling it a night. Are you seriously saying that if it weren't |
|
for the horrible Bush years no one would be looking at the Clinton administration favorably? Really? So no one thought much of the Clinton years until they saw how bad the Bush years are?

10. Well, why wasn't Gore elected in a landslide? |
|
I guarantee if you ask a lot of people who voted for Bush if they would vote for him again back in 2000, many would say no. Fact is, Bill's sexual escapades made the Dem Party look bad and Bush was able to campaign on religion and values to win back in 2000. No Monica Lewinsky, no Bush. Really is that simple.

Funny how removing a single word from a quote can completely distort it. :eyes:
I don't like the truth, but I recognize it. The Republican Party beat the Monica Lewinsky scandal until it was a dead horse, then beat it some more. Bush campaigned not on foreign policy knowledge, not on his quick thinking skills, but on God and values. Every other sentence out of Bush's mouth was a Carter rendition, but focused on morality instead of criminality.

In any case I honestly don't think Clinton has a legacy. He was a good steward, and once he left, nothing lasted.

3. I'm thinking it's all about |
|
Bill's ego. Not, sure if he realized how much he was sabotaging Hillary's campaign..and now he can't believe where he finds himself.
It's not as if he's ever really done much to help anyone win but himself.

5. This is probably why Gore did not want him to campaign for him in 2000 |
|
It IS all about Bill, always will be. That being said since when is this new? He risked Gore's presidential hopes by playing around with an intern. And then he got mad at Gore when Al tried to distance himself from Bill. The fact that he is tepid at best with Obama is not surprising so why is everyone in a tizzy over it? This is Bubba's way, he is all about himself and is most likely STILL not happy Hillary did not win because this means he failed in part to get her to the nomination. I do think he should keep his mouth shut if he is not going to really help Barack and Joe but endlessly dwelling on it is not healthy for all of us DUers. He sucks, we are pissed, now lets win an election!

Bill Clinton sucked the life out of the financial markets.
He spurted un-realistic "growth" onto Wall Street.
We, as Americans, are SCREWN.

19. No way. Hate freepers. Just saying what struck me most in 2000. |
|
I will never be a total Clinton basher or lover. He did great things with the economy and he reformed some things that needed to be reformed. I first saw him at 16 in 1992 an he was actually a lot like Obama then, young and energized and he took on Bush I. He was a good president for the most part but he was also and is still a selfish bastard. He cheated on his wife numerous times and did not help Gore with his actions. Bill is all about Bill.

24. Well, I'm not obsessed with it the way some are... |
|
I did not think he needed to be impeached over it but if he had kept it in his pants then Rethugs could not have harped about needing a "values change" in Washington and made the election close enough to steal it. Of course, we ended up with Shrub, Mr. Hard Partying himself over Al Gore, a straight arrow if there was ever one. And yeah, the MSM helped the Rethugs steal the election too. See, I have a tough time totally laying it all at Bill's feet but I am not 100% happy with him either. I don't know...lets all just get past it and concentrate on helping Obama win. Okay?

Someone should tell him that if he says the phrase, "18 million" then he's on the wrong track and needs to bite his tongue.

18. Yeah, I know. But then I realized there'd already been about 20 threads on the subject, |
|
Edited on Tue Sep-23-08 01:01 AM by Walter Sobchak
and one more snarky thread wasn't going to do any good.
Hillary's done a lot for Obama since the primaries ended, and Bill gave a great speech at the DNC. His behavior today pissed me off too, but there are more important things to worry about.
