The polls which purported to to show McCain losing votes with Nader included also included Bob Barr, the conservative libertarian! Of course McCain ended up with fewer votes. And so did Obama.
No progressive is voting for McCain because he is a "maverick." He has always been very conservative, just a quirky hothead who used to cultivate the press with one-liners. Nader will pull from progressives, as he always has.

He has far more McCain vote-poaching power than Nader does.
(though of course, my money, volunteer time and vote goes exclusively to Obama - I don't vote for idiots!)
