Press Manipulation of the People and by a Campaign
On the West Coast, we wake up while news is being made, or sometimes after news has been made.

I come to DU usually first thing in order to catch up....and so it was this morning.

I quickly learned that the McCain Campaign had denied Press access beyond photographers to CNN, and so CNN had reciprocated in kind by denying photos. But then I saw photos of Palin meeting heads of state at the UN here at DU. Then I turn on my television to MSNBC, and I see film footage of Palin doing the same....with light bulbs going off everywhere....and David Gregory making sucking sound commentary.

And so it is then that I realize that once again, the McCain campaign has successfully manipulated the press into doing its bidding. The McCain camp in colaberation with the Corporate media, has created a story where there almost was none, and set up Palin to be all over the television meeting heads of state. Mission accomplished for the McCain campaign and an excuse for the Corporate media to breathlessly report on Ms. Palin once again. I can only say, the media is either eagerly manipulated, or the media is in cahoots with the McCain Campaign manipulating us once again.

On the other side of the ledger (the Democrats), my computer opens the Internet through Yahoo (although I am rethinking that option at this time). One of the headline stories there is in reference to another "AP" poll in where this time, Obama is not making any headway with Clinton Voters, and hasn't budged "since June" they report. In coupling that with Bill Clinton's television appearances yesterday, and his less than energetic lean toward Obama, I have to believe that this is again, the media manipulating public opinion. In this case, it is telling Clinton voters that it is quite alright not to be in Obama's camp in this election, and that voting for McCain is an acceptable option that not just a few, but quite a few have opted for.

In addition, there is a Biden story made to show his disagreement with the Obama Campaign's treatment of McCain in reference to an ad. Of course, since the Obama campaign is very disciplined, this gives the media a story that they can use to show that maybe that isn't totally so. You see, they'd like nothing better than to demonstrate that Barack Obama is not the supreme manager that he actually has shown himself to be over almost two years' time.

Looking for Obama News, it appears that Obama is in "Debate camp", and is nowhere to be found. There is only a lingering whiff of the stories on him yesterday being up in the polls, but that he might have trouble winning the election because he is Black.....something of course that he cannot change.

In short order, as our country's economic situation is disintegrating right before our very eyes, the Media is still the willing accomplice of the McCain campaign in every way, shape and form to distract from the fact that the McCain camp has proven itself ineffective and just plain ol' liars each and every day.

The media has indeed become quite ingenious on how they get this done, but the whole push is in lowering Obama's poll numbers once again.

To conclude, the Corporate media is still in McCain's pocket, and don't we ever forget it. Obama will have to work twice as hard, and be 5 times as good as McCain consistently until November 4th. We must do what we can to negate the press manipulation.......and we must take heed on these boards, because we are the pulse that the media comes to check on to see what it is that they can report on to sow discord within the ranks....and with voters.

The Corporate media is still John McCain's base, no matter how they are reporting that they are no longer. Do not be fooled.

1. One of those World leaders needs to tell the American people...
That upon meeting with Sarah Palin, they found her to be wholly unqualified to become Vice President of the United States.

Just ONE of them.

That is all it will take.

4. Naw.....
He meets with anyone and never has anything bad to say. His goal is to provide AIDS relief, and not to sway the politics of this country.

5. We need to tone down the Clinton talk.......
It is not helping us....and is in fact achieving a desired result.
