Bailout = Democrats Should Definitely Not Clean Up After The GOP and McCain If They Don't Support It |
|
The McCain campaign is getting primed to come up with an excuse for voting against bailout, and blaming the Democrats for giving away taxpayer dollars to Wall Street executives. My take is the Bush/McCain do not support their own bailout, the Democrats should not support it either, particularly since there is no absolute guarentee that this will even work.
Secretary Paulson could offer no assurances that Taxpayers would get any money back or that this $700 billion is the final tab of the bailout. Given this uncertainty, we are being asked to take a lot of what the GOP is saying on faith. Therefore, if McBush cannot demonstrate any faith in the Republican administration's plan, then I smell a setup, and the Democrats we should walk away. If the Republican candidate does not have any skin in the game, then I think it is just a cheap political trick, and the Democrats should say "No thanks."
