I Just Watched Bill Clinton On 'The Daily Show' & I'm Puzzled |
|
He said Hillary has done more for a presidential candidate than anyone has in the last forty years. Does anyone know what he was talking about? I know she's done a few events for Obama, but is there something else she's done that I haven't heard about? I really don't know what he meant by that.

Look at the Republicans. How much have Romney, Paul or Huckabee really done for McCain? Did Dean do anything for Kerry?

17. both dean and clark were the few dems that did help kerry in 04. hillary certainly didnt |
|
as a matter of fact, with her luke warm praise of kerry, she did less than help him
that is not dissing what hillary has done in 08. i like since convention.

19. Of course Hillary didn't run in 2004, she ran in 2008, and HAS done more than any other runner up |
|
and Kerry didn't help himself. Who the hell ever heard of a three week vacation whilst the swift boat vets just lied their asses off about him. HE (John Kerry) did NOTHING. I mean nadda. For THREE FUCKING WEEKS.
Please. Kerry did not lose the election, but he easily allowed them to steal it from him, and anyone who's honest with themselves knows it.

21. you so dont know the facts or you ignore them to be "outrage" in a story told. |
|
Edited on Wed Sep-24-08 07:25 AM by seabeyond
she was a dem in 2004 and twice made comments about kerry, and twice they were less than helpful.
yes i like what she has done since convention, and her convention speech was so kick ass, her words still stay with me on women issues.
i can both see the plus and the minus without having to create a story to "protect".
i could give you the facts of that aug of kerry's. but i have found with people like you that ignore fact and throw out this garbage, regardless on taking the time to present them, in timeline and reasonable, you will continue to ignore so you can continue to be "angry" at kerry taking a 3 week fuckin bullshit vacation doing fuckin nothing
ridiculous.
but none of that was my point. the point being, is let us not forget dean and clark did jump on kerry's bandwagon, unlike any of the other dems, besides cleland

23. btw, i like the real intelligent thinking that says he did NOTHING, ran a bad campaign, WON and was |
|
stolen....
he ran against an incumbent in time of war and NO ONE ever wins with that combination. yet.... he ran such a poor campaign doing NOTHING, yet won
smart

It seems to me like a lot of runner-ups have campaigned for their nominee. Hasn't Huckabee campaigned for McSame? Didn't G. W. Bush help Reagan? He made it sound historical.

9. Seriously? A lot of runner ups have campaigned for their nominee. |
|
He said more than any other runner up in the last 40 years.
George Bush was Reagan's running mate. He said more that any other runner up unless they joined the ticket.

26. A better example might be what McCain did for the chimp, in 2000. |
|
McCain's presence on the campaign trail in 2000 was much greater than what Hillary's has been, which is ironic given that it was the Bush campaign that had played dirty in that election.

Honestly, I can't recall another surrogate doing as many rallies for a candidate, ever. I think there's some merit to the claim.
Also, take note of the fact that the media is doing a piss poor job of covering Sen. Clinton's campaigning for Obama, since it doesn't fit the all important Narrative.

|
He said she's done more for any "Democratic runner-up in the last 40 years", nothing about anyone joining the ticket.
He may have been talking about her fund raising for him as well as her campaigning, I really don't know.

16. This is the part you want to focus on? |
|
After all of the crap about how "Bill Clinton isn't doing enough" that has been here, he goes on the Daily Show, is asked what he thinks he would win by if HE was running, and did not answer it...Instead he said "The important thing is Barack Obama's going to win. That's what's important...Barack Obama will win".
But the only thing you got was that he, after being asked a question about it, I'm sure (I didn't see the show), he proudly pointed out that Hillary is working very hard for Obama....and THAT is your focus?
THE PRIMARIES ARE OVER!!!!!!! Can we PLEASE get over the Clinton bashing and focus on turning Senator Obama into President Obama?

a "runner-up" of 1988 (before Hillbilly ever entertained running for the office) - Jesse Jackson, did more (and continues to do more) for all sorts of Dem nominees than "anyone in the last 40 years". I still have a tape of the 1988 convention that I re-watched over the weekend and that is clear. In fact, the whole black community has continued to support white Democrats > 90% of the time, and that has been the case WAY longer than 40 years.
Time for the Clintons to exit stage-right. :eyes:
