Edited on Tue Sep-23-08 11:46 PM by FrenchieCat
and so is Senator Shelby of Alabama.....and he said so on Hardball.

And so are the Republicans who renegated against Cheney today.

So I hope that Dems ain't gonna be voting for this shit.

I know I'm saying this a lot....but that's because it is becoming clearer and clearer!

Even the People don't want it!

1. See my responses to your other thread/
We are in agreement. McCain cosponsors or nada. We need to "reach out" and ask him what he wants to see in the bill and then make him sign his name. Of course we'd have to do the same with Obama, but I'm fine with it if both candidates agree.

11. It's a set up for Republicans
Not backing this is going to make them look like extremists. I've been reading some more on this, and I don't think it's going to be all that bad if the Democrats get the provisions they are asking for. Once the anger and the hype dies down, people are going to understand that this has to be done, or we face far worse consequences. If the Democrats get their wish, the federal government could even make a profit out of this deal when these institutions recover.

4. No win pre-eclection trap like IWR for 2002. Stakes greater here, and timing really smells bad.

6. Unfortunatley American's don't understand complexities.
They'll say "Obama supported the Wallstreet bailout" - "McCain rejected Wallstreet/Bush" etc...

No McCain, no deal.

9. They'll blame us before November
which is what I'm thinking about at present. McCain will be in the OO by the time anyone loses a retirement account. NOPE, no McCain, no deal. ;)

10. Yep because McSame is sagging in the polls
and they want to turn it around before the unclassified "Afghanistan is a disaster" report comes out to help bolster the old fool.

13. We're not anywhere near a vote
In fact, I don't know that I would bet a nickel on there ever being a vote at the rate things are moving on the Hill. Lots of uncertainty on both sides.
