WTF is up with Right Wing Radio pimping the idea that Hillary will take Biden's place?
Edited on Wed Sep-24-08 12:53 AM by Mayberry Machiavelli
Perhaps this has been posted in other threads...

I listened to a snippet of Hannity the other day, some troglodyte at work had it on. I didn't catch the context, but he and his caller or guest were talking in his inimitable breathless mouthbreather fashion about the fact that Biden was going to have to step down, um, I suppose because he's been such a terrible candidate (HELLO MCFLY) and Hillary was going to take his place. And how badly this was going to hurt Obama because of how badly it would reflect on his judgment, picking Biden in the first place.

They were talking about this in utter, serious, earnest.

What the hell paint fumes have these people been into? I think they are thinking about the wrong shitty VP candidate...

I posted about this on another board, and was told that ALL the RW radio types have been pimping this for a solid week or two now.

In other words, ever since the time of McCain's peak "bounce" where doubts started to creep in about Obama's campaign, before the ephemeral nature of the bounce due to the RNC and McCain's gimmick VP pick became more clear.

They are stuck in that moment in time, like a bug trapped in amber, and want to live there, with their audience, all the way into November.

It's almost as if that AP/Yahoo study (you know the one) was engineered to coincide with this ridiculous fantasy to pimp "Dem division/HILLARY!" at the precise time McCain's bounce was going to recede. Except that the very rapid manner in which this has happened, leaving Old Man McCain naked and high and dry, makes the whole thing look completely ridiculous, even more than it was on its face already!

I don't listen often to RW radio but I have a certain mandatory amount of involuntary exposure to Fox News around my places of work. Is anyone else hearing or seeing this ridiculous crap?

On Edit: Oh by the way, I am loving the brilliant, laser BLUE "MUST READ" rating system now! Hooray for site improvements!

what Rove is to many Left Wingers. A Boogey Man that gets every bump in the night attributed to it.

2. Its called Projection, they are afraid its going to happen to them with the Troopergate
You can always tell what guilt they are having by what guilt they often lay on their enemies.

It is also at the heart of the Guns of August process of spiral thinking and strategic justification failures, estimating an enemies strength and strategy on ones own situation, strengths and weaknesses rather than the enemies real situation.

It should also be of not that the rumor is TIMED to coincide with the result of Sarah Palins troopergate situation so it is likely a reverse projection of that fear.

In psychology, psychological projection (or projection bias) is a defense mechanism in which one attributes one’s own unacceptable or unwanted thoughts or/and emotions to others. Projection reduces anxiety by allowing the expression of the unwanted subconscious impulses/desires without letting the conscious mind recognize them. The theory was developed by Sigmund Freud and further refined by his daughter Anna Freud, and for this reason, it is sometimes referred to as "Freudian Projection

3. There are half a dozen threads on this
People apparantly just woke up and remembered that Biden had an anuerysm when he was 45. They were talking about this on the radio here this morning.

This is as stupid as all the threads we've started on Palin dropping out. The rightys have 2 purposes; 1) to con everyone that Palin is more popular than she really is and 2) to fire up Hillary haters.

Seriously, I think a big part of Obama's recent move in the polls is Hillary supporters who have gotten their anger out of their systems and are coming back to the base. Their hope was that Palin would prevent this.

13. The internals show the big shift is independents
and some of those may have been Clinton supporters though she did best with Dems.
I hope a lot will decide to go Obama just based on vast policy differences between him and McCain, not chance 4 years of McCain in hopes of Clinton in 2012.
If he could get the about 90% of Dems like Gore and Kerry did he will win big.

I wonder for the hard core PUMA/mad at Obama (or whatever her supporters that have not decided to vote Obama) would even want Hillary as VP even if they wanted it offered. Would they accept her being in an "inferior position" to him?

...more stories on Joe Biden being some sort of gaffe machine over fairly minor remarks that nobody gives a shit about esp. with the current crisis going on and to stir up doubt and whatever lingering puma resentment there might be toward the Dem ticket...it's projection, they are terrified to let Palin speak in front of a camera, yet Obama's judgment is supposed suspect because he chose Biden over Clinton...

8. Remember how we were warned (by everyone, including ourselves) not to attack Palin?
Because it was a trap and would diminish Obama and not hurt McCain? Well, the wingnuts are falling into the same trap with Biden, only it actually IS a trap for them since Biden, unlike Palin, doesn't really affect the ticket at all with regard to undecided voters.

Let's just be thankful for their stupidity in focusing on a distraction that distracts only themselves.

21. Obama has debunked this anyway
in the last couple of minutes of this interview with Matt Lauer from Monday:

http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/26184891/vp/26850025#26850025

At 4:10, Lauer frames the question as 'now that Obama has lost the lead with white women (which I think has been reversed again), isn't his campaign rethinking the decision not to put Hillary on the ticket?'. Obama reiterates that he spoke with Hillary earlier that day, that she is an advisor that he needs, but that he's happy with his pick of Biden as VP.
