Oct. surprise came early. What do you think? |
|
All this hoopla about financial crisis is a trap for Obama. If he votes, he will be labeled "the same and change". If he doesn't vote, he is labeled "don't love this country". So what he should do?

It's really not that complicated. Or at least it doesn't have to be.

2. I was thinking it was a trap. |

But then I read Dodd's bill. If Obama votes for this, the case really has to be made to the people and only Obama can make that case in a calm, reasonable fashion. McCain should be put on the spot and if McCain changes his mind (he is kinda wishy washy on it), it could backfire on him. We could actually say that he is politically calculated...say he deregulated everything and now he doesn't want to fix the mess he made; he just wants to walk away from the problem and stick his head in the sand. But if anything passes, it better be loaded with taxpayer protections, bankruptcy reform, stimulus package, CEOs get the boot and should be investigated under RICO and SEC violations, more oversight and authorization for new regulatory schemes. I.e. the reverse reverse bitchslap.

3. If this is the case, then Dodd and Obama should put many restriction into it and remove the shit |
|
Paulson is requesting to be the only one who can decide about the money.
BTW I remember someone here suggested to cut $700 bil from Pentagon budget and use that for this problem. There are ways to resolve this problem but *CO are insisting to do this thing fast and without any discussion.

4. As long as he gets the values right he'll be ok |
|
As long as he convey's the right values he'll be fine. In a situation like this, very complex issues that are very hard to grasp, values are crucial.

Everything's a trap when you're a crazy paranoid nut, I guess.
Sometimes, shit just happens that you have to respond to.

6. I hope they stall and table this whole piece of shit till after the elections |
|
Or better yet watch chimpy declare congress will be in session until he gets his bill in hand. But the bill he gets will be so onerous to his wealthy base that he will never sign it

I'm waiting for an odious attack on Sen. Obama's character or another mini-war.

8. I'm surprised in September that anyone alive would vote McSham/Failin |
|
I never foresaw a ticket that would make me hope Bush/Cheney go martial law. McCain and his cronies are amongst the most vile and incompetent you can dig up and are boldly running on NOTHING. That's right they proudly are running on bluster, lies, dizzying spin, and lame attempts at folklore.
At this point even if you're somehow in tune with their politics that it is too apparent that this pair can't be allowed to have the keys, its way too irresponsible.
