Any Company Receiving Bail Out Money Should Be Nationalized |
|
I am of the opinion that the Democrats should insure that any comapny that ends up being bailed out should be nationalized at the same time. In other words, if AIG receives bail out money, 51% ownership of AIG should go to the American people.
No nationalization, no bailout money. Go broke, or sell majority ownership to the American people. There should be NO OTHER OPTIONS!
It's time for the American people to do a hostile takeover of these companies.

3. State ownership... not necessarily |
|
The important thing is that taxpayers ought to somehow get their money back. State ownership might be one solution, but not necessarily the only one.

remain nationalised. The putatively philosophical underpinning of the so-called "free market" has been exposed for the risibly implausibe scam it was.
Adam Smith exposed it centuries ago, when he warned again and again that businessmen could not be trusted or they would conspire against the public good at any and every opportunity. Let the swine snuffle for truffles, but reef them off them as quickly as possible, or after snuffling out the truffles, they'll snaffle them in one mouthful - and we'll be left sniffling again. Dogs are better. Maybe Schnausers.
It's intesting to see the effect of changing a formal, old-fashioned term in the context, "contrivance", for the modern, idiomatic, "scam", as I have done in this quote:
"People of the same trade seldom meet together, even for merriment and diversion, but the conversation ends in a conspiracy against the public, or in some scam to raise prices."
Anyone think that doesn't happen today? Thought not.
