26. This is total BULLSHIT! Who will debate the bailout, the Senate?
...The bailout is dead. No bailout without oversight and accountability, period.

This is nothing but further distraction and deflection from the real issues about the election now just five weeks away. The republicans are going down in flames. McCain/Palin represent more of the same Bush policies. Obama/Biden and the democrats mean change and a chance to turn things around. So rePukes are scared shit-less.

53. Multitask. Obama must continue with the debate. Organize a consensus next week. Debate goes on.
If the to-be President cannot juggle more than one issue at a time, then he is not fit to be President. Obama needs to address the economy as he has been, state his positions, and he needs to continue to the debates. The debates cannot get delayed!!!

McLiar is struggling so fucking much. We can trap him if we phrase it correctly. Why not postpone the war, why not postpone discussions on Pakistan? We cannot postpone the issues everytime something big comes up.

BULLSHIT!!

But I gotta admit it's a clever tactic. I don't think anyone's gonna buy it, though.

Yesterday he wasn't sure he'd show up for a vote, now he's suspending his campaign to help?

Make up your mind man!

70. Gamesmanship or Leadership?
I say gamesmanship. A poll?

McCain, having admitted to lacking knowledge in the area of economics, all of a sudden wants to gain ground here.

The first debate was to be in the area of foreign affairs. Supposedly his area of expertise. Will this backfire.

McCain was one of the causative factors in our current economic situation...needs to make amends. A day late and a dollar short.

John McCain: Out of money, out of ideas, out of honor, out of conscience and out of time.

McCain suspending campaign to deal with Wall Street crisis

Sep 24, 2008 3:02pm EDT
Reuters

NEW YORK, Sept 24 (Reuters) - Republican presidential candidate John McCain on Wednesday said he will break off from campaigning to help on a Wall Street rescue plan and asked that a Friday night debate with Democrat Barack Obama be postponed.

McCain, in a statement to reporters, said he would suspend his campaign on Thursday to return to Washington and called on Obama to join him, saying he had spoken to the Democrat.

He said he did not believe a current $700 billion rescue plan would pass the U.S. Congress in its current form. He urged President George W. Bush to call for a bipartisan meeting of lawmakers to try to find an agreement.

"It's time for both parties to come together to solve this problem," he said.

Your time is up, McCain.

State vs Nation Vote Share Projection Trend

REALITY: 1) The National trend displayed in the chart hasn't yet factored the recent ABC/WaPo poll of 52-43 Obama (Registed Voters, 5% undecided)
REALITY: 2) The State trend lags the National by a few weeks.

Obama originally called McCain and asked for a bipartisan resolve of this issue. McCain tried a oneupmanship. What BS. McCain is one of the root causes of our current financial situation. He hasn't been needed in Washington of late, he's certainly not needed today.

97. Here's what I just posted on McCain's web-site
It took a while to get through, but I'm glad I persisted. Here's the message I left McAWOL:

"Why do you want to postpone the debate? If you think your presence is suddenly necessary in Washington to help clean up the mess you helped create with your deregulation efforts, I have a better idea.

"Why not just withdraw from the campaign now and concede the election to Obama? If you do that, your political party will be spared six more weeks of embarrassment, Sarah Palin can return to Alaska to (finally) start being the mother she has failed to be so far, and you can spend some time starting those 13 cars you own so their batteries won't die. Like your campaign just did.

"If you were still the maverick you were in 2000, I would still respect you. What, pray tell, ever happened to that John McCain? I expect his picture to start appearing on milk cartons real soon."

116. I think McCain is trying to offer LEADERSHIP
I believed before I heard this both Senators needed to return to the Senate so they could shore up the debates and talk through the details so that when they take office they are on top of the b.s. on the Administration and Congressional sides.

I do think they need to hold those debates on Friday.

I don't know why it is necessary to take down any ads or any presidential moves.

obvious political ploy by McCain. A farce to distract from the Palin-UN farce. Is this what we will have in the White House? Every time there is something of serious national concern, McCain will attempt political capitalization?

What's worse, they even used talking points a.k.a. propaganda. As everyone should know, propaganda only has one purpose - enslavement. As long as people continue supporting propaganda, they will not be free.
