McCain left an easy response for Obama to win this story |
|
"Fine. Let's have the debate in Washington. Surely we can jointly go before the American people for 90 minutes to talk about what our plans are."

1. Obama is suppose to release a statement within the hour |
|
I hope it is played well.

4. I don't think Obama should give one inch on this... |

No change in date, no change in venue. Any capitulation, no matter how small, does nothing but legitimize McCain's credibility in this economic mess. Obama should say
a) "I, for one, can multitask just fine, if McCain can't then perhaps he should reconsider his qualifications for the Oval Office"
b) "There is no good reason to cancel a debate to let one of the Republicans responsible for this meltdown pretend to be fixing it, while dodging uncomfortable questions about his credibility in these debates."
c) all of the above.

That seems to be the only sure-fire way out - show up at whatever venue is chosen - two podiums. Obama is there - will McCain show up - if not - Obama can articulate his vision to an audience of millions sans McCain.
