So.....this is why McCain is doing this! What a bastard. |
|
Edited on Wed Sep-24-08 02:23 PM by TwoSparkles
Gloria Borger is reporting on CNN right now, that a high-level Obama adviser, told her that this morning--Obama reached out to John McCain and asked him to join with Obama and release a joint statement on the bailout. So, they would delineate where they have common ground, as a show of unity and to help things move forward.
Apparently, McCain called back, 5 hours later, at 1:30 cst--and said he would agree to join forces with Obama and detail common ground to address the economic crisis.
Then....a half hour later--McCain announced that he was suspending his campaign and that he wants the debate canceled. We can't have Barack Obama looking like a real leader and a man who reached across party lines to solve problems, now can we?
Apparently during the 5 hours that McCain waited to call back Obama, he was scheming about how he could screw over Obama and one-up his bipartisan effort to join forces.
Now, McCain is on CNN demanding that Obama work with McCain and suspend his campaign as well. So, when Obama extends a hand--for the good of the country-- McCain schemes, plots and plays political games--to gain the upper hand.
"Country First" my hiney.
McCain knew that Obama's reaching out and extending a hand--would be a political coup for Obama. So, he devised a way to screw him over and usurp any plans Obama had of making himself look bipartisan.
What a schmuck McCain is.

Remember when Biden said "Bullshit!" re: Bush/appeasement. This is such a fucking farce...I can't wait to see what Rachel Maddow says about this.

13. MSNBC reporting this as well, with an AP article - link here |

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26872907/The Obama campaign said Obama had called McCain around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday to propose that they issue a joint statement in support of a package to help fix the economy as soon as possible. McCain called back six hours later and agreed to the idea of the statement, the Obama campaign said. McCain's statement was issued to the media a few minutes later.

His diplomacy skills leave little to be desired. |
|
He might think this is cute for American politics, but this type of behavior would be embarrassing on the global stage. This isn't leadership, this is just more gimmicks I come to expect from the McCain campaign.

Just cause McJerk is panicking doesn't mean we should delay the debate. Obama is smart enough to do more than one thing at once. A president can't just stop everything else every time there is an emergency. What the f--k is that about?

12. So the MSM is reporting that *Obama* reached out first? |
|
If so, good for them - and maybe McCain didn't expect to have his cover blown for trying to pull a dirty trick.

17. Yes, Borger clearly said... |
|
...that the Obama advisor told her, that the Obama campaign reached out to McCain this morning, at 8:30 a.m.
As Rick Sanchez and Dana Bash have been talking--they both said that it's unclear who called who first.
I'm really not worried. Obama is smart as hell. This is an opportunity to expose McCain for the doddering, back-biting, fake fool that he is.

21. YES-OBAMA called MCCAIN and McCain returned the call 6 hours later! |
|
Then MCCAIN came out acting like HE was the one wanting to "put country first and partisanship aside."

I fucking hate him. That's not even strong enough to say how I feel. There are no words to express my hatred of him. None.

22. McCain is a copy-cat.. |
|
he co-opts everything Obama says and does..well except for appealing to a vast cross-section of the American people. This like everything else John McCain does proves what a know-nothing loser he is.

The Republican Party never does anything without a reason, and usually it's self serving and devious. They are in the midst of an election and their ticket is dropping like a rock. They have something up their sleeve. Be very, very suspicious.
