"I can do both"--that should be Obama's message on McCain's desperation move
Show that he has the energy (age) and use of technology to stay abreast of goings on in DC.

Let's not forget that McCain became the frontrunner and won the Republican nomination by STOPPING HIS CAMPAIGN. Of course, that was easy to do just stop and let the dismal field play itself out. The "field" now is not as weak.

CNN is already reporting that Obama reached out to McCain at 8:30 this morning to put out a joint statement on the crisis. We'll see if anyone stays on that aspect of the story.

Obama can also make a play that "sitting in DC doesn't necessarily solve anything. John McCain has been there 26 years and THAT didn't help"

2. I like that -- I'm sure the Obama camp was blindsided by this. Hell of a
position to be in. I wonder how they'll handle it. I like your approach.

3. He CAN'T follow on this
He has to have another alternative. Everyone knows that in any decision one option is DO NOTHING (continue campaigning) and that is often the best one.

5. I agree they can do both...... Neither are on the committees that
draw up these laws. They could both be in Washington and Mississippi easily that day.
